“A Warm Welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2012

The Greenlake Guest House is everything and more that you could ask for in a B & B. It is a Craftsman style house situated on Green Lake ( which is perfect for runners or walkers). From the minute you open the door you feel at home. Julie and Blayne are attentive and engaged with each of their guests. They have anticipated every need from a refrigerator stocked with water and soda to bookshelves filled with books and dvd's to fresh baked cookies in the cookie jar to all the amenities you would find in a large hotel. And of course the breakfasts! Each day's breakfast was different and delicious and prepared from scratch by Julie. Though our room was a little on the small side (my choice), it met my criteria of clean, quiet and comfortable. Julie and Blayne gave us restaurant and tourist tips and we enjoyed every place they suggested, particularly the locks and the tour of the Boeing plant. We were sorry to leave when our time in Seattle came to an end.

We stayed two nights at the Guesthouse this time and loved every minute of it. The food was wonderful, the house is beautiful and comfortable, but Blaine and Julie are the best part. They are wonderful hosts who work very hard to make sure that your stay is the best it can be.

We really enjoyed being there.
Reception and attention all along the time we were there were friendly, attentive, and reliable.
Julie and Blayne are marvelous hosts.
We enjoyed so much wine and cheeses moments together with other guests.
Rooms are full of light and very clean.
Bathroom was with natural light which is bringing a real enjoyable atmosphere.

Blayne and Julie are very attentive to each of their guests. Their wonderful house is cozy as well as airy. Breakfasts are superb! They've thought of everything. We'll be back---I almost hesitate to tell everyone about them, knowing that it will be harder to book there once the secret is out!

We stayed 3 nights at Greenlake Guest House and it was awesome. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the breakfasts were superb and the fresh baked cookies every evening were delicious. Julie and Blayne were great hosts and made us feel welcome and at home...actually better than home because no one pampers us like that at home. There is no doubt that we will be staying at Greenlake Guest House the next time we visit Seattle.

We spent two pleasant nights at Greenlake Guest House in late April. We could not have been more pleased. The guestrooms in the lovely craftsman bungalow had been very thoughtfully renovated to include just about everything a guest might want, from robes and flat-screen TV (and a huge DVD collection) to heated floors and a spa tub in the bathroom. Our room was not huge, but very comfortable. The living room downstairs features a beautiful, original craftsman fireplace, comfy leather chairs and sofa, a game table, and a snack area with coffee machine, homemade cookies and brownies. There is a drinks refrigerator upstairs. The one breakfast we had was excellent (we had to leave for an early morning plane, but Julie packed us a boxed breakfast to take with us.)

The location, right across the street from Green Lake, is excellent -- close to downtown, but not too close, and in a neighborhood where a number of interesting restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.

Congratulations, Julie and Blayne, for making such a lovely retreat!

Room Tip: The rooms in the back, away from the road, may be a bit quieter; there is some road noise.

Greenlake Guest House is my B&B of choice when visiting Seattle. The owners/hosts offer friendly and professional service, immaculate and attractively furnished rooms/baths, and gourmet breakfasts featuring the freshest of fruits and other ingredients. Guests can read or play piano in sunny parlor overlooking Green Lake or play a more active role in the Lake scene, swimming in summer or walking/jogging around the perimeter all year round. Proximity to fun and trendy restaurants completes the picture.

Room Tip: Carpeted rooms and stairways provide a quiet and sleep-enhancing environment for guests.
