“Robert Irvine from "Restaurant Impossible" would have his work cut out for him!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

Bad doesn't begin to describe the food in this establishment. We were hoping to find a charming restaurant with good creole and cajun flavors, but instead we barely ate anything and couldn't get out fast enough. All of the "Barbecue" sauces and Cajun sauces were poured out of large bottles. The shrimp we ordered were way overcooked and drowned in a bottled sauce high in vinegar. The sautéed vegetables were not seasoned, BUT were coated in oil and not cooked. The corn fritters were cold and likely made hours before and not even warmed before being served.

The state of the kitchen was disgusting to say the least, as we unfortunately had a beeline view of it. It was a nightmare dinner I won't soon forget.

“Good Cajun in Seattle downtown...”

Very tasty, reasonable prices. If you like Cajun/Creole cooking, check this out. One block from Pioneer Square, downtown. Live jazz at night too.

“Southern Hospitality in Downtown Seattle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

What a really unexpectedly restorative experience! Tired, thirsty, hungry, slightly disoriented and a little disgruntled by preceding events, we randomly chose the New Orleans as as good a place as any to get a drink and a bite to eat. We had come to Seattle on a business trip combined with visiting friends, and we had just picked up our rental car and finally found the place recommended by the agent--which was closing in 5 minutes. The first alternative was blasting some sort of rhythmic sound with an incredibly heavy bass, and there was no place to sit that didn't confront us with a TV. We went inside the New Orleans, quiet and almost empty on a very hot early afternoon weekday. The staff was friendly and welcoming without effusiveness, and our server was particularly gracious and attentive without intruding on our recovery of a good attitude. Pleasant country music was playing in the background, although I imagine it's not at all quiet when the live music starts later on. I can recommend it heartily for the afternoon, for sure.

“good food, out of shrimp”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2012

They were out of shrimp when we ate there, which severely limited our options. I had the chicken jambalaya, which was delicious. There was a jazz band playing and people were dancing, lending to a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

“Great Food Great Atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

If you like Cajun, then this is the place. Located in an historic building in Pioneer Square, the restaurant maintains it's 19th century look and feel. The food was substantial and very reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly.
