We had a reservation at Salty's for our anniversary. The waiting room has live crabs, lobsters aquarium. We were sitted inside. Nice views of Seattle and sunset. I thought it was unique that they brought bread wrapped in a Salty's newspaper. Food was delicious. My husband wished the portion was bigger. Comparing with Space Needle Restaraunt, the food was delicious in both cases, bigger portions at Space Needle, same price, both of the restaraunts had nice views. That's why I rated it a 4 star. Service was amazing.

Got the dungeoness crab Mac and cheese, which was heavy but tasted great. Nice fresh fish choices, and a great drink menu! To die for views of downtown Seattle across the Soun!

On our return from visiting Mount Rainier, we made a last-minute decision to have dinner at Salty's on Alki Beach. Located in West Seattle, it was a little hard to find because we were using a travel magazine map. Fortunately, the sun was setting and we knew the restaurant was situated across from Seattle; both were good clues as we continued north on an arterial road! We were immediately seated at a small table overlooking the harbor. As the sun went down, the city lights twinkled on and a beautiful harvest moon began rising in the east, behind the tall buildings. The view was spectacular and well-worth the extra time it took to find the restaurant.

We didn't have a reservation but it was early, around 6:45 when we arrived. Shortly after, the dining room began to fill up so I'd recommend making one, especially if you have a large group. The food and wine were both delicious and our server, Trace, was especially cordial and knowledgeable. A couple nearby was celebrating their anniversary so their server brought them balloons. We thought it was sweet - the couple appreciated the gesture and the balloons didn't appear to be in anyone's way.

It was our last night in Seattle and this dinner was a fine way to bid farewell to Washington State. Should we return, I'm sure we'll go back to Salty's; perhaps we'll try the brunch so we could sit outside!

You pay mainly for the panoramic views of downtown Seattle at Salty's on Alki. IF you can see the skyline for the childish colorful balloons they tie to tables that celebrate a special occasion. Please PLEASE lose the balloons!! Annoying and completely unnecessary.

This time, the food was pretty good, but the lack of attention to details made this an average-only meal. For example, the Italian pinot grigio was much much too cold and tasted like water. I couldn't get a small bowl for soy sauce to dip my sushi in, and had to use a saucer. The main dish (halibut special) came in deep dish, which made it impossible to cut the fish. Asparagus were severely undercooked. Coffee was cold, had to request new cup. No toilet paper in the restrooms, which were overflowing with junk. Not nice.

Best part of the evening: the lovely complimentary white chocolate mousse cake that we received. Was excellent and somewhat made up for rest of the meal. The young waiter was nice too.

The concierge at Hotel Monaco recommended this restaurant because of the phenomenal view and excellent food. We were looking for a restaurant on the water and this was the best. It was fun because the weather was beautiful so we chose to take a water taxi to the restaurant. We arrived early and were lucky enough to be seated at a window table. As the sun set the lights of the city skyline glistened ; the food fantastic; and the service was exceptional. We couldn't have had a nicer evening and did not find the food over priced as others have suggested. We would definitely return to Salty's.
