This is exactly the place if you want something more homey than a hotel, but not quite a B&B. April was a very nice and attentive host (although I needed little attention). She had the cottage stocked with most of the essentials (milk, eggs, cooking oil, spices) and a full kitchen. Plums were ripe and plentiful, and she even left me a small jar of homemade preserves (which sadly I couldn't take home because of the airport security rules). The cottage is comfortable, with a nicely furnished living room, comfortable beds, and a breakfast nook with a heated floor. Plenty of windows, including views of the gardens, flowers in front, fruits in back., and some outdoor furniture in back if it is a nice day. It has many entertainment options (tv, stereo, books). There is a washer & dryer (with detergent provided!) so you can pack light.
The cottage itself is very pretty, and April keeps it immaculate. It is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, but with great access to I-5, and Seattle has very good public transport. That latter is important because traffic in some parts of Seattle or the freeway can be unexpectedly congested for someone coming from a smaller city. There is an express bus with a stop only about 4 blocks away, that will take you right to the downtown tourist attractions. There are several restaurants in walking distance, many more a short drive away.
I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone, and if (when) I make it back to the Seattle area, I will at least look at the availability and try to adjust my dates accordingly.
This suited my family down to the ground. Two decent size beds, strong warm shower, very well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge with books and games to keep evenings occupied. Location just off the interstate made getting out into the state easy and downtown simple. Really quiet little street. Very easy to find from the airport. The owner April lives next door and was more than accommodating. The welcome pack was brilliant which really made this a home away from home. Cannot think of anything negative at all because there simply wasn't anything and if you've read my previous reviews, I am brutally honest. Simply book it.
This place is a great escape from the city within the city. Beautiful gardens on a quiet street. Everything you need and more with this one all the amenities of your own home plus bonuses like the delicious snacks April left us which were great on our daytrips.Do some shopping for food at the central market just up the street that place was loaded with deliciousness. April and Mike are great people and take alot of pride in this rental you won't be disappointed.
Lovely garden and all comforts, even A/C, since Seattle had record temperatures.
Refrigerator was stocked with all kind of goodies. Kitchen well equipped and open, All rooms were cozy and bed comfortable. We had a real nice stay
I booked this cottage for a week long getaway with my adult daughters. The location is close to both the interstate and the main roads. It was easy to get to the sights we wanted to see. We were able to visit downtown Seattle as well as taking a few day trips to kayak, to Snoqualmie Falls and to Mount Rainer. The house is roomy. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances were operational. The bathroom seems to be fairly new. The backyard has kitchen herbs, strawberries and huckleberries growing for use in cooking. We enjoyed it and would rent it again! The flowers in the front yard are beautiful.
This cottage is SO cute! The interior is decorated with antiques and books and pictures. The kitchen and bathroom are newer and have heated floor. 2 bedrooms with queen beds and they are very comfortable. The location is on the north side of Seattle, which came in handy for things we did. The ferry to Kingston from Edmond's, where we started our Olympic park travels. We also took a Whale tour from there. Seattle has a gazillion good restaurants....hit a few of those! Back to the cottage, April, one of the owners, was very nice and had the place stocked. She greeted us and was very cordial. I would highly encourage anyone to rent this place! We never used the backyard but there was plenty of room for sitting outside and basking in the sun. IF Seattle ever gets any sun....Lovely landscaping, also!
Do you remember when you were young and went to to stay at your grandmother's house, well this brings back all those fond memories. You get there and snacks, goodies, and basic essentials are already stocked. Immaculate landscape and a quiet back yard.Inside or out, just the perfect place to relax and forget about the Hussle & Bussle of every day life.
