Whenever we go to Seattle Opera, we stay in the neighborhood and have dinner at the Bahn Thai. As the opera starts at 7:30, we book for 5:45. The staff here are expert at dealing with pre-show diners. If they know you are going to a show, they make sure you have time to get there. The service is efficient although not rushed. We've enjoyed every meal we've had here. The menu has many dishes to choose from and every one is delicious. In particular, they do wonderful things with pumpkin! The staff are cheerful and friendly and the owner is charming and very hands-on, seating guests, pouring water, taking orders, and generally making things work smoothly. We had always had white rice with our meal but on our last visit he suggested brown rice. It's delicious, different from the brown rice we're used to. It's reddish brown and has a wonderful flavor and texture.

A recent reviewer mentioned that the service was "a bit slow as all the staff all hung out in talking with family." We've been to Bahn Thai a dozen times and have never seen anything like that. The staff are very attentive and we have never experienced a lapse in service. There are several reasons that this restaurant has thrived for over 30 years, and the excellent service is certainly one of them.

Recently ate here prior to play and everyone in our party of 5 continually raved about all the key elements of a memorable dinner out with friends. Friendly, prompt service without being obsequious, yellow walls and authentic furnishings were attractive and warm, and food was delicious, flavorful with right amount of spice. They brought out an extra dish of a curry entree by mistake and left it, didn't even charge us for it.
Brought the bill, remembered we had a play to see in the Seattle Center and wanted to allow time for walking there.

Food was pretty good with a decent menu selection. If I was to offer a criticism it would be that the service was a bit slow as all the staff all hung out in talking with family.

We are in the Queen Anne area of Seattle at the Maxwell Hotel (that review to follow : ) A TA search of eateries nearby showed this one to be great. So after an educational and fun experience at the E.M.P. (Experience Music Project Museum -- review also to follow) we stopped in for lunch. 10/10. Great warm and welcoming staff, clean and decorative interior, and fabulous food -- we would come back here any time. This place is reasonably priced for the size of the portions as we had to box up and take what we couldn't finish. If you check out my pictures I can attest that the food tastes as good as it looks!

Weren't sure what to expect, but once inside, it was delightful. It is super clean, bright and welcoming. We had really good service. Food was spicy, fresh, flavorful - and the portions were generous. Shrimp curry was brilliant. THis is the kind of place you would keep on your regular rotation list of favorites. You could bring kids, or meet up with friends / colleagues. Has a sweet neighborhood vibe; unpretentious. Food truly was excellent - and prices were very reasonable.
