“Merchants Cafe”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

It's a good place to stop by for dinner and drinks after the underground tour.
Loved the alfredo but pulled pork not so good.
Our waiter was very friendly.

“Great Food & Spirits! (Literally)”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

This historical building transports you back in time. The owner did a great job of restoring & decorating the place and sat with us to chat about its interesting past. For lunch we split the yummiest Grilled Cheese (combo of cheeses including Cougar Gold!) w/ Steak Fries & Spicy Pulled Pork Sanwich; both were extremely savory & tasty. Over all, our visit here was memorable & we have zero complaints so we'll be back. Thanks Darcy & Staff & Go Cougs! : - ]

“Nice Happy Hour Bites”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

The deep fried mac and cheese nibblers for $3 was a good treat as was the Apricot Ale. If you're around Pioneer Square, check this place out for it's 3-7pm happy hour. Also, be sure to dip downstairs to see the restaurant's "underground" from the original city. Seattle's oldest restaurant is worth dropping by.

“Amazing food!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

We went in to Merchants Cafe and had their grilled cheeses sandwich. Talk about fantastic! The sandwich had Tillamook mild cheddar, mild white cheddar, cream cheese, and on the sourdough bread you had a Parmesan crust! That and steak fries and you're in heaven! Don't miss this place!

“Old Seattle at it's Best”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

Stopped in for an evening night cap after the Battle in Seattle. This was the evening for the Santa Pub Crawl for downtown Seattle and the bar area quickly filled with many Santa's helpers, and all were being very nice. We had a couple of drinks and an appetizer. Service and atmosphere were great, we were staying nearby, but unfortunately we will not have time for a real meal this time, but we will definetly be back on our next visit. Check this spot out if you like places off of the beaten path.
