Before an event at Key Arena we decided to try the Collections Café. I was a little skeptical given it was in Seattle Center and I was guessing geared more for feeding the masses than for quality. I am happy that I was wrong. The menu is simple but with sufficient variety between seafood, beef, pork and fowl. My friend and I decided to split everything. We had a wonderful asparagus appetizer with a softly boiled egg, on-site made ricotta, prosciutto and balsamic reduction, yum. Then the beet salad, another good choice. We also had the duck entre and the rockfish entre, both were great and the sides were especially delicious. Prices are reasonable and the wine list has some very good choices also for very reasonable prices. Greatly exceeded my expectations for food quality and yumminess and did not put a chip in my wallet. Recommend.

Seldom you will expect a class American restaurant to serve you Indian specialities, that too in downtown Seattle. To our pleasant surprise, we were entertained with Bombay spiced tea and pakoda, in addition to classy French fries (named as House fries), which are reasonably priced. The service was quite warm and friendly. A place worth visiting any time you are around the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden.

Stopped by on a Sunday around 1pm, made a reservation shortly before arriving. Was seated after a short wait.
Had the beet salad and the collections burger. Both were quite good. The 1/2 salad was appropriately priced, but at $17 I thought the burger was a bit overpriced. The fries, though kind of tasty, could have been a tad warmer.

It's fun to look at the many Chihuly collections that are exhibited around the restaurant. The food is decent but somewhat expensive. I had fish 'n chips with a water and it came to $27 with tip.

We always go out to dinner before going to see a play at the SRT. We have tried a lot of restaurants around the Seattle Center and so far there is only one we keep going back to. We now have another choice, the Collection's Cafe.

It's attached to the Chihuly Garden and Glass on the Seattle Center grounds. The service is excellent starting with the hostess who went out of her way to accommodate our seating location request, to the waitress who was able to have a relaxed chat with us a bit to the manager who came by and filled our water glasses and joked with us.

The food was excellent too. I had the Tart Flambe' which is best described as a sorta' pizza. But this is a pizza that comes with seafood bisque as the sauce and chorizo, shrimp and salmon chunks as the topping. It was fantastic.

One of the best parts was the relaxed low key atmosphere. The collections are an added bonus, even the 100 or so accordions dangling from the ceiling. Just right for the kind of dinner we like to have.
