I've been to both El Gaucho's and found they are equally good. However, I love going to Bellevue as it is closer. My husband would bring home the appetizer Steak Diablo for dinner some nights as the sauce is excellent if you like a tiny kick. I eat my steak well done which I know is a big no no but I just don't care for bloody plates. Anyway, my well done steaks are never over cooked or char'd and I can always use a butter knife. :)

“Best Tartare Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

Great waiter, great table side prep of salad and tartare. Great vodkas that the bartender infuses himself. Don't be surprised if they bring a giant fruit/nut tray with some cheese to your table following dinner

“Fabulous EVERY time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

The food and service are stellar. The atmosphere is relaxed and the table side meal preparation is wonderful. Highly recommend the table side Caesar salad followed by the CHATEAUBRIAND. Finish your evening with the burnt cream or apple tart (or better yet have both) with a nice glass of wine. The wine list is exceptional and they staff is very knowledgeable of food and wine pairings. The Inn at El Gaucho upstairs is wonderfully quaint.

“Pomp and circumstance. Where to go if you need people to know you've”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

arrived. Your somellier will likely try and sell you a $700 bottle of wine and your waiters will fawn over you like something out of a Monty Python skit. Steaks are steaks, go to the Metropolitan, the Brooklyn, or Jacks for a casual but great experience

“great atmosphere, less than great food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

the table-side attention is grand, consider a ceasar salad, atmosphere is true to its dark and seductive supper-club heritage, but food could be ratcheted up a notch given it's local competitors.
