I am not a vegetarian, but enjoy vegetarian food. Carmelita's does a great job. What surprised me was how creative they were with food items that would not seem to go to together. Who would put fruit on a pizza? Try it, it tastes great. Even my 11-year old loved their pasta. A great neighborhood place.

As a vegetarian living in a small town, this was a treat. The food was amazing and my husband who is no veg enjoyed himself as much as I did. Try the gnocchi!

Next time you are going on a date, why not skip the regular "meaty" restaurants and suprise him or her with a wonderful experience at Carmelita. The restaurant is in the heart of Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle and delivers fantastic vegetarian fare in a moderately elegant space. Great salads, soups, pastas, pizzas, and special veggie dishes. They also have a nice wine list a tasty desserts.

This is a delightful little vegetarian restaurant with an Italian bent and extremely creative dishes. The drinks - non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails - are an intriguing mix of fruits and spirits combined with of various herbs and reductions - some containing rosemary, cucumber, or pear. Everything we sampled was delicious.

The soups were fresh and we especially enjoyed the special of asparagus with preserved Meyer lemons. Thin crust pizzas were topped with nettle pesto or artichoke hearts, manchego cheese, locally grown mushrooms and arugula.

One can order a selection of these small plates and make a very satisfying meal out of them. The restaurant is small but we were able to sit in the bar area (open to the dining room) and eat dinner there.

This was a nice oasis in the plethora of Seattle restaurants.

My cousin and I stopped in at Carmelita's for dinner this past week and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu offered a wide range of selections. I had the root vegetable pot pie and it was superb and a perfect dish for a cold Seattle evening. My cousin ordered a pizza and was quite pleased. There was a nice offering of drinks though only two or three options for the white wine by the glass. However, they were having a special with 50% off bottles which would have given a slightly larger group access to some really interesting choices.
The setting is somewhat plain but very comfortable. I would definitely consider eating there again when I am in town.
