“Good happy hour at the bar”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

Went with friends to have a light dinner. The happy hour menu is great with several options for well-priced wine or cocktails and lots of great little plates. We had a delicious truffle risotto, a cheese plate, and a steak sandwich. Good quality food especially at the happy hour prices. The atmosphere was a bit more subdued than we expected but it was a Sunday night during a holiday weekend.

“Great little Bistro”
Reviewed December 2, 2011

Did the dine around Seattle promotion of "three for thirty" three courses, thirty bucks. Had the pork Tenderloin main course and butternut squash bisque as an appetizer. Homemade ice cream for dessert. It was a Wednesday evening, and it was PACKED. A testament to the delicious food while being in an area of Seattle with NUMEROUS places to eat all within a five minute walk of this place. A little noisy, but overall a great dining experience.

“Been very good in the past, but this time a caution”
Reviewed November 23, 2011

We have gone to this restaurant many times and enjoyed it enough to keep coming back. Four of us went there and it was during Seattle's Dine special, 3 courses for $30 month. Three of our party ordered from the special menu while one ordered the boars head ragu off of the regular menu. That turned out to be a mistake. It was obviuous that the boars head meat came from the bottom of the pot and was likely in the fridge because most of the people were having the items from the special menu. The meat was tough and very salty becuase it was likely cooked down. Also, there was a warning sign. There were shavings of parm cheese on top of the dish and they were not at all melted. The dish was served cold. It always amazes me when a restaurant is not busy, as was the Stumbling goat, that the kitchen can't figure out how to make the meals for a party of four so that they all come out hot at the same time.
So, the warnings here are stay away from the regular menu during a restaurant special menu time, ask the wait person to request the kitchen to go easy on the salt (you can always add more if you want), and if your party's meals appear as if they would have different preparation times, ask the wait person to requestteh kitchen to try to time the outcomes of the meals.

Hopefully the Stumbling Goat will see this report and adjust their efforts accordingly.

“Lovely bar, great food, my favorite neighborhood spot”
Reviewed November 2, 2011

I love Stumbling Goat. I'd love to go every Friday night and sit at the bar watching Carla make great drinks. The cheese plate during happy hour along with a salad is an ample meal.

We have gone for three family birthdays in the past year and enjoyed everyone. The menu is small but oh so tasty. The staff are personable and not overbearing. The tapanade is a great tempting treat while you ponder the menu.

It can be cool inside, so bring a wrap. Lovely!
