“Great location and very good food appreciated by locals.”

Definitely worth making time for a meal here. The food was tasty and the view of the market is a fun happening scene. Get there really early or you'll have a long wait. The chips/dip are great. Beet salad was satisfying with just the right ratio of graba padano cheese shavings, chervil and terragon in a champagne vinaigrette. The grilled fish sandwich was perfect. The chocolate dessert was skimpy on pralines and the chocolate cake was more of a browny than cake. The ice cream and chocolate cake had a good flavor but the lack of crispy texture from missing pralines was a bit of a disappointment. Overall the meal was enjoyable, satisfying, and fun. I would definitely come back.

“Great time at Matt's”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

Food was great but engagement with staff was the best. Chef made the Duck fans feel welcomed! Scallops and Octopus were delicious and chocolate cake was a nice topper! But the Dawg Biscuits made the night!

“Unique and worth every penny”
Reviewed October 10, 2013 via mobile

We had the best meal of our trip to the northwest at Matt's and not to mention the best view. We were just lucky enough to be sat in the corner window facing the pubic market sign. A once in a lifetime experience made more memorable by the great food and service. Call for reservations.

“Fresh!”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

I had the whole black bass which was the special and it was delicious and cooked to perfection in a savory stew which included chick peas and other vegetables. My dinner companions raved about the beet salad as being one of the best they ever had. I would definitely go here again.

“Rather disappointed”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We went there because it was highly rated but was disappointed because the food was not really that good. We order the Pork Pastrami sandwich which was way too salty and the clams tasted awful. It was also pricey. Can give it a miss.
