“A terrific hole in the wall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2014

This restaurant is tucked away in the Market Place but you should definitely seek it out. Down a strange corridor, it emerges to a cozy room over looking the bay with a great little bar and menu. The staff were exceptionally engaging.

“Great Bartender, Awesome Special Drink, Good Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Stopped here for a drink on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Carlos made us his specialty drink, a Sazerac. It was entertaining to watch him make it and it was even more fun when he served it; with a tiny hammer. The drink is enclosed in an ice ball and you use the hammer to break it. The drink itself is delicious. We also ordered a bucket of steamed mussels with wonderful crusty french bread which we used to soak up the fabulous broth. Carlos was a delight to talk to. It was a perfect stop on a rainy day while shopping at Pike Market.

“View is great but food just mediocre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

Great location in the Pike Market. Wonderful view. A little pretentious and stuffy. Good wine and beer selection. Food was OK…not terrible but not the best. Coq Au Vin was a little dry and everything else was acceptable but not spectacular

“Beautiful and romantic dinner.”

You can't beat the view and the food matches the view as well. Love French cooking and the Creme Brûlée is simply the best. Great service.

“Snails, snails, snails galore and a beautiful view to soak them up in!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2014

We just arrived in Seattle on a Saturday afternoon last week for a conference, and my friends were anxious to find a very nice place to eat and celebrate my birthday (which was the day before). Ok, we were starving. And Pike's Market was packed, but the painted arrow and sign to Maximilien beckoned us. We have been dying for French food, because we have absolutely 0 full French restaurants where we live in Northern Colorado. The restaurant is right on the water with a gorgeous view! We arrived about a half hour before dinner (it was 4:30), but they accommodated our large table in the bar where we enjoyed local beer and some small plates, including...l'escargots. The snails were amazing. Melt in your mouth, slurp up the butter amazing. It's been years since I have had such delicious snails. We liked them so much when we were seated in the main dining room for dinner, most of us ordered our own appetizer of them AGAIN. The fixed menu is a great deal- everything was delicious. Food is more traditional and old-fashioned, nothing nouveau, but that is a-ok. And the lovely staff just made our night- service was fantastic! I feel really lucky that we stumbled upon this place out of desperation (hungry stomachs) and walked away feeling like we just dined on the French Riviera. A night and meal to remember!
