We go to Jak's on a regular basis. There are three in the area: Sand Point Way, Issaquah, and West Seattle (we live in West Seattle). Jak's steaks are always (and I mean always) perfectly prepared. The best baked potato imaginable. Perfect bleu cheese dressing (for the salad). Even the veggies they serve with their entrees are always perfect. This isn't the cheapest place to eat, but given the quality and amount of food (there is always enough for me to take home for a secondary meal) it really is a deal. Two drawbacks: 1) Dessert selections are sparse. BUT - we have never wanted for dessert, being so full of steak and potatoes as we are. 2) Jak's does not accept reservations, so you need to either be willing to stand in line or go at an irregular dining time (like 5:30). They also have an excellent brunch - almost never a wait on Saturday mornings for that. Go Jaks!

The steaks at Jak's are outstanding. The portions are huge. Two of us shared a dinner and we did not go away hungry. Our New York steak was cooked perfectly. The service is attentive. What more could you ask of a restaurant? Jak's does not take reservations. Plan to go early or you will have to wait.

Lovely food and great atmosphere. Very pleasant knowledgable staff. Not able to book in advance but as it is local to us that is not a problem. It is always busy every night of the week - a good recommendation for any restuarant!!

We ate at Jak's for the last time last night. It was awful from start to finish. We keep trying this place because it is popular and much less expensive than other steak restaurants in town but i guess you get what you pay for. The service was great however the food was terrible. Our salad was full of unripe fruit...we sent it back. The baked potato was mushy and tasteless like it had been sitting in a steam table all day. How do you screw up a baked potato? We split a ribeye steak and only ate a couple bites each. It was chewy and poorly cooked. It seems the kitchen staff just dosen't care anymore. Go to the Met. Much better.
