5 of us had dinner on a weeknight at 6pm. I was surprised we could just walk in and get a table with all the press about this place. the meal was delicious and the service was excellent. the highlights were the lamb lollipops, beef ribs, beef and lamb kabobs, veggie samosas and the two desserts we had- rice pudding and custard (?). Since this restaurant is related to Vij in Vancouver and has many of the same menu items, it is impossible not to compare. Vij is one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced and Shanik is very good, the best I've had in Seattle. We spent about $40 per person with 7 drinks for 5 of us plus tip.
