“MA Kai is Magnificent! !!!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

This place is everything I was told it would be. So short story is, yes it's good, yes there will probably be a line (always indication of a good food choice) , price makes it worth the wait as well as the quality and amazing flavors in this fusion of a menu. Try each of the tacos you won't be disappointed! But, the pork Katsu sandwich? Shut the door!!! Huge, the pork was so perfect and soft to bite into your taste buds just won't be the same afterwards! Best find? Mac salad with spam... I'm Hawaiian it's a two way food fix aND took home the Kim chee fried rice...amazing the next day...don't think there is anything bad on this menu...seriously! Get your grind on here...One more thing...the Seattle city view is breath taking...enjoy some shave ice and sit outside and just take it all in.

“First time on the water”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

Had lunch on Sunday, August 17th at the location on 1660 Harbor Ave SW. It was the peak lunch hour but managed to find a parking spot in their lot. The outside line was very long, but found out it was quicker to order inside at the bar if you were having an alcoholic beverage. I ordered one miso ginger chicken and one spicy pork taco. These came in a pair of 4” corn tortillas with their signature slaw, homemade pickled jalapenos, a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and nunya sauce. I also split a kimchi fried rice bowl. The rice was covered with a sunnyside up egg, green onions and furikake. I've never tried these combo of foods before, but the mixture of seasonings and flavors was excellent. I also had one of their bloody Mary's, which was spicier than the food! Amazing view of Seattle from the backyard dining area. There is also an outside bar for more drinks and no lines.

“Casual dining on Alki”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

Perfect place for casual eating and drinking. With indoor and outdoor seating, you can enjoy Alki Beach year round. The fare ranges from fish and chips to salads to spam specials. Great for a crowd. Ate there recently for lunch, there were ten of us and food (not drink) was $75 and we all were filled and enjoyed hanging out.

“Holy sh$&!”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

This was an amazing culinary experience. This place used to be an awesome food truck, but is now an awesome restaurant. Really a transformative experience for me. The line was a bit long, and the bartender was a bit short with me (he was dealing with several thirsty patrons, but that's not my problem). I had the pork katsu sandwich, the Hawaiian macaroni with Spam and the kimchi fried rice (I know, a lot of food, but I was super hungry) and was overwhelmed with everything. Everyone at my table was pretty much blown away with their lunch choices. A scenic view and right next to the water taxi in West Seattle. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

“Don't miss this one!”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

Great fish tacos and spicy pork tacos. Don't let the line snaking out the door discourage you. It goes fairly quick and is well worth the wait. There is inside eating, but I recommend waterfront tables. You might want to bring a light jacket if you tend to be cold.
