“Tasty food with a superb location”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

This is a great place to come and get some Hawaiian/Korean fusion food. The food is flavorful and bold. The Kim Chee fried rice is spicy with just the right amount of heat, served up with your choice of meat (or have it vegetarian) and an egg on top. Mix it up to incorporate all of the flavors into a mouthwatering delight. I also had the tacos, one fish and the other the miso ginger chicken. They were both terrific--big flavor but not overpowering. The other food that came out of the kitchen looked great as well.
At lunchtime, there is a line out the door but it moves pretty quickly. Service is efficient. There is indoor or outdoor seating available as well as a full bar. The views of Downtown Seattle are incredible here.
Located conveniently next to the West Seattle Water Taxi, you can take a short boat ride over to the restaurant from the Downtown Waterfront, enjoy the lunch and views, and then head back. Better yet, take the Water Taxi Shuttle to the heart of West Seattle after eating and explore the local shops.
Congrats to Marination for putting out great product and keep up the good work!

“Aloha Never Tasted So Good!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Now I know why Marination was voted America's best food truck in 2009 by Good Morning America for Hawaiian-Korean curb cuisine.

I'm so amazed at the success of food trucks here in Seattle!

Ideally located at 1660 Harbor Ave SW Seattle, WA 98126, Marination Ma Kai offers great views, cheap eats, and a full bar.

My favorite menu item is KIMCHI FRIED RICE with Sexy Tofu

Kimchi Fried Rice bowls are served with a sunny-side up egg* and a garnish of
green onions and furikake.
Kalbi Beef  Miso Ginger Chicken  Spicy Pork  Sexy Tofu
$6 Add Protein $1.50

I even love their bathrooms, because, as a Design Consultant, I feel that a bathroom really says something about an establishment!

Marination Ma Kai is as good as it gets!

“Best Korean/Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant with Something for Everyone!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Marination Ma Kai was a great restaurant located in West Seattle. The King's County ferry went from downtown Seattle straight to West Seattle and ended up right in front of the restaurant. The view is incredible! You can sit outside or inside and see the ferris wheel, space needle, and downtown seattle while you eat their wonderful food. The food an incredible fusion of Korean and Hawaiian with flavorful kimchee and spicy pork. The pork sliders looked incredible along with the kimchee quesadillas. I highly recommend this spot for a lunch or dinner! The prices are very reasonable. The shaved ice cream dessert was delicious as well. The beer selection was good as well. The bike/kayak/skate rental behind the restaurant is fun for kids and adults looking for something to do besides eat.

“Great Views, Food & Staff”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We had a private party in early July and we couldn't have been happier. The samples that were served were impressive with strong flavors and excellent sauces. The staff was great and very accommodating. On one of those rare and beautiful Seattle days, the sun setting on the City of Seattle provided even more of the magic of the evening.
Located right at the Ferry ramp, it is worth the time and effort to hop on the ferry, have a great and quick dinner and return to Seattle all in the same evening.

“Not Ready for Busy Weekend!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

After having a great experience in April. I brought my husband knowing how much he enjoys Hawaiian and Korean Food. But Wow they were not ready for a busy Holiday weekend. The line was out the door and it took over 10 minutes to get our order. They informed us that they sold out of the Tonkatsu Sandwich. We were so disappointed. But got three sliders one of each filling. Then went searching for a table. Ordered a beer and waited half an hour for our order to be ready. My husband went to get the food and they only buzzed us to say that they had run out of the Kimchi Fried Rice and it would be another 10 minutes. My husband asked for the rest of our order as we were hungry. She got it but it only had two sliders. He asked about the third and she said they had put two filling in one because the bun was larger and we could cut it. How dumb is that. The asked for the Chef. The lady didn't want to get the Chef so she said she would get it fixed. He left and five minutes later the rest of the order was ready. So at this point I don't recommend this place during busy summer weekends. The food was good but this time I found the Kimchi Quesedilla lacking, too much sauce. The rice was good. Sliders were ok. I wanted the Tonkatsu Sandwich. Don't know if I will be back or recommend.
