This is one very nice restaurant. We have enjoyed ourselves here in the past and looked forward with real anticipation to returning on this trip. We like sitting in the large, rotating chairs (cafe style) where you face the chefs, watch them cook and interact with them. We waited until two of these seats were available. We recommended that our niece go to The Brooklyn and eat in the cafe style seats when she was visiting Seattle recently and she had a great experience. But she's a big steak eater and we're not anymore. This time the experience for us was not everything we expected. First, we were seated around the far bend in the "cafe" bar, where deserts are prepared, and as interesting as that might seem, it just isn't as much fun as watching the meat flame up on the fire. Second, our server was AWOL most of the meal, which I found strange. Third, the Lobster Ravioli and the Bouillabaise were, well, mediocre. And the portions were small, even for "small plates." Go for the steak. Go for the oysters. I remember the calimari as great from previous visits. Stick with them. If you are in Seattle because you love sea food, go someplace else.

Great selection of oysters and terrific servce. The clam chowder is exceptional. A unique ingredient for chowder if you can guess it....
Decent wine selection and the mixed drinks were very well put together. This is a consistent stop for me every time I'm in Seattle.

You will really enjoy this restaurant. Lots of beers on tap as well as a wide selection of different types of oysters make this a wonderful place for dinner. Locals packed the bar and a friendly wait staff was very very attentive and helpful in our selections. For a main course I had scallops (cooked mostly through) which had a wonderful buttery texture and flavor. My wife had the halibut, also cooked through, excellent flavor, very fresh. I would recommend this place and would definitely return should we come back to Seattle.

We love the Brooklyn Oyster house for the food, service and of course the oysters. We usually start with two dozen oysters and then look at the menu.

The staff there has always been great to us and we have a favorite waitress who remembered us from the very first time we went there (Heidi).

They have great cocktails. I don't know if we have looked at their wine list because the cocktails are so good!
