I went to Bitterroot with some friends last weekend, and totally loved it. They don't take reservations, so if you go on a Friday or Saturday (we were there Friday night), expect to wait. But we had a terrific time hanging out at the bar, and the 45 minute wait flew by. The bartenders are GREAT and were super nice the whole time.
We ordered the big platter -- Cowboy -- of half a chicken, ribs, brisket, and more. I focused on the mac-n-cheese with chard in it, so creamy and delicious. It would be easy to over order here -- the mac n cheese is more than one person's entire meal, so if you're also getting meat, prepare to be taking some to-go boxes home.
I would totally go back. I loved the service and the food. A terrific place.
