“Awesome BBQ in upscale setting”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

I went to Bitterroot with some friends last weekend, and totally loved it. They don't take reservations, so if you go on a Friday or Saturday (we were there Friday night), expect to wait. But we had a terrific time hanging out at the bar, and the 45 minute wait flew by. The bartenders are GREAT and were super nice the whole time.

We ordered the big platter -- Cowboy -- of half a chicken, ribs, brisket, and more. I focused on the mac-n-cheese with chard in it, so creamy and delicious. It would be easy to over order here -- the mac n cheese is more than one person's entire meal, so if you're also getting meat, prepare to be taking some to-go boxes home.

I would totally go back. I loved the service and the food. A terrific place.

“Happy Hour - Cheap and Good”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Happy hour menu is limited (like most other places) but good and very good value. Good balance between familiar comfort food and more creative items.

Parking is a bit of a challenge in the area and I spent 15 minutes looking for a spot. Worth the effort though.

“Blissfull BBQ in Ballard”
Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

The cornbread was moist, delicious, and a great side with the smoked chicken. The brisket sandwich was perfectly flavored and juicy. Love that coleslaw--fresh and tangy without too much mayo. The whiskey drinks are numerous and nice and strong. Brussel sprout side is a must with its slight kick. I've been here twice and the service is attentive and helpful.

“Great lunch stop in Ballard”
Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We literally found this place by smell! We were hungry and walking along Ballard and I kept smelling the most delicious smoked meat. once we figured out it was coming from Bittetroot I had to try it! Whoever decided that you could add pulled pork and caramelized onions to delicious homemade mac and cheese is a genius. I am a mac and cheese snob and theirs was awesome! adding house smoked meat and veggies to it made it even better!
