I was in the mood for oysters, so I looked up on yelp to see where I can go close to downtown.
Parking could be a pain, just have to drive around a bit to find a street parking.
The restaurant is very casual, and appropriately named a "seafood deli".
I ordered a dozen oysters and got a kumamoto and kusshi as well as geoduck sashimi. Yes, the oysters were good, but I wasn't necessarily blown away as some reviewers did. What bothered me more was the slowness of service. I mean....I'm pretty good at shucking oysters, and these guys are supposed to be pros.....and would expect some fast shucking from a seafood "deli", but I was waiting quite a bit till my oysters got served. Oh well.
Geoducks were good, but as a sushi conoisseur, it's nothing special. It was actually hard to eat with a little fork that they gave you to dip in soy sauce, and would have preferred to have a set of chopsticks, but the main problem is that it was sliced way too thin. Geoducks taste better when served thicker so that you can enjoy the chewy texture, so that was disappointing.
All in all, it was good, but I would have given 3.5 start for slow service and somewhat unsatisfying geoduck sashimi experience.
