“Beautiful addition to your Seattle Center Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Take your time and bring your camera to this wonderful Seattle area attraction. While a bit costly, if you get this as part of a discount ticket package - add it on. If you're going to Tacoma, see the bridge of glass there instead.

Very interesting historical adaptation of glass, vibrant color gardens and amazing opportunity for photographers. This is something to do both on a sunny or rainy day. Takes about an hour unless you want to read everything and take tons of pictures.

I went midweek during the day and there were no crowd. Great cafe next door for lunch or a beverage break during a busy city visit.

“OMG - just beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Was like a kid in a candy store. This place was amazing. well woth the price of admission. We spent an inordinate amount of time going through the galleries. The ceiling of glass was ridiculous. Totally worth it even if you are not an art nerd. My husband was totally impressed simply by the engineering it took to pull of some of these instillations as well as the sheer beuaty. There is there is so much to see if you dig blown glass, amazing hand crafted items or large scale art installments this is pretty amazing. A must see.

“Who knew glass could be so exciting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

In February my wife and I visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass at the base of the Seattle Space Needle. I was there for my wife, she's the artsy one in this house. As it happens she had to wait for me as we walked through the exhibit. It was well worth the price of admission. This entire area has lots of things to do and see, the Space Needle, the downtown Monorail and several funky restaurants. There is a place called Skillet in the hall just behind the exhibit. Really Crazy Burgers with topping you have never seen before. It was a very good day.

“Amazing”

Much more than we could have expected. The whole Seattle Center is amazing and like a feed bag for art starved tourists. A beautiful day and we could not have been more impressed with the display and beautifully crafted glass art.

“Amazing collection of Dale Chihuly's work”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

This is definitely a must-see for all visitors and residents alike. I like glass to begin with but even if you do not have a particular interest, the displays are so stunning that they take your breath away. The colors, the size of the installations, the variety, all of it is magnificent and a treasure for Seattle.

Dale Chihuly is, arguably, one of the foremost leaders in the glass movement and has many fans as well as some detractors. Don't let that keep you from visiting. The site itself is small, only an acre and a half, but the works are huge. Just trying to imagine how they fit the pieces together is mind-boggling. Some of the work is inside and some outside. At night the colors are even more magnificent.

Chilhuly is quite an eclectic collector as well as an artist/craftsman. In the museum was a display of Native American blankets, if I recall correctly. Also, there is a restaurant next door which houses some of his many collections. Each table is a glass-topped display box with different small collections of things like cameras and toys. Along the wall are old radios, tin toys, and hanging from the ceiling are vintage accordions.

Definitely worth the admission price to be able to see the work so closely.
