“Spectacular at Night”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

We went at dusk. The evening lighting is great. A marvelous exhibit. We happened to catch the exhibit in the Dallas Arboretum in early September so this has been a Chihuly Fall.

His work is incredible. I could stare at the glass displays all day. Was expecting a bit bigger exhibit for $20, but it colors are incredible. I would have liked to see it at night.

“Do not miss this”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

I had seen Chihuly in other locales, so I knew what to expect and was looking forward to it. Boy was I surprised. It was beyond my imagination. Room after room of glass installations left me speechless. All ages will love it. It is at the base of the Space Needle. The best time to go is around 5:30. This way you can see all the indoor installations, then wander outside for the installations in the garden. Then the magic begins when the lights are turned on as darkness descends. There is also a Cafe with great food and wonderful Chihuly paintings coupled with wild collections under the glass of the tables, although my favorite was the large number of accordians hanging from the ceiling. There was also a wandering photographer who would take your picture wherever you wanted and then you could email it to yourself and friends - for free. Just go and enjoy.

“Add This To Your Seattle "Musts"”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Our family group ranged in age from 7 years to late 60's and everyone had a spectacular time here. I have seen many Chihuly exhibitions. This building, garden, and glass objects were designed by Chihuly himself to complement the works, and they are far beyond any other exhibition I have seen. Take your children, and let them use their imaginations to describe what the glass forms seem to suggest to them. The garden is almost as overwhelming as the indoor exhibits -- plan to spend enough time here to enjoy at your leisure. My best tip: after viewing, have lunch in the building's adjoining "Collections Cafe". Food is beautifully presented (of course!), the menu is friendly for all ages, and our gluten-free child was accomodated. The best fun happens as your wait for your food. Chihuly has mounted many of his whimsical collections of accordians, radios from the 1960's, tin soldiers, etc. etc. on the cafe's walls and inside the glass-topped tables. The customers strolled along the one aisle, viewing the collections on the walls and inside other customers' tables -- it was all part of the fun, and no one minded the brief visits to look as we were all taking turns ourselves.
