This was a nice place to visit. The views are amazing and the story of the building is very interesting.

I thought the Smith Tower was SO much better than the Space Needle. The Space Needle is very commercial, and is the North part of Seattle. The Smith Tower is in the heart of Seattle, and you can see all the historical buildings, the stadium, the port. The only draw back is you have to pay for parking everywhere you go. It is must see attraction. I also recommend taking the Underground Tour first. It will make the sights from the Tower so much more meaningful.

I wouldn’t have caught wind of this adventure if I didn’t see it on Groupon. Sparking my curiosity I checked it out and I was pleasantly surprised. Though not as tall as the Space Needle this towering view gives you a wonder view of the city. In my opinion you get a better view of downtown, the shipping district, and Puget Sound than the Space Needle. The cost was $7 a person which is as cheap as an attraction is going to get in Seattle. The entrance is not heavily advertised so find your way to the building and try the doors until one opens. When you walk it you will be ushered into an elevator that takes you straight up. If you look straight out the elevator door you can watch as each floor of each story flies by, which is neat. Once you get to the top you are greeted by a receptionist to pay and who is happy to answer your questions. They call the top floor where the observation deck is the Chinese room. This room has an authentic ceiling that was shipped from China as a gift. Looking up at the carved wood and painted gold leaf ceiling will leave you with some wonder about the myth. As for the myth as the receptionist about it.
The observation deck is a 360 degree view of the city. It is completely bared in so if you have kids you don’t need to worry about them falling, jumping or flying off.

The renovated Chinese Room is very impressive and the surrounding outdoor walk affords a 360-degree view. The building's interior and exterior art deco style is also fun and fascinating (if you appreciate art deco). Definately worth a visit if you're in the Pioneer Square area.
