My son and I spent two wonderful days at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. We arrived at 1:00pm and they offered an early check-in and a room upgrade. Room was large, nicely furnished and light. We went shopping and then had a great lunch outside at Schucker’s. It was Sea Fair weekend and beautiful weather. We enjoyed our swim in their Spa.

Slept soundly, the beds and linens were perfect. Breakfast in the Georgian Room was excellent except for the $24.00 orange juice (juice was freshly squeezed). We went swimming each morning. They have complimentary coffee/tea and fruit at the Spa.

Spent one afternoon at Volunteer Park. Enjoyed the view from the water tower, the Blue Angels were flying right overhead. The Conservatory was fabulous, as always. Gas Works Park was the highlight of the afternoon.

Highly recommend the Olympic. It was our second visit and this was better than the first, which I didn’t think was possible

We have visited this hotel many times over the years, even lived in Seattle in the 80-90's and used to come for dinners and afternoon tea there. So when we visit the PNW, we always try to stay there, to enjoy the wonderful architecture and generally good service. This time we were less than impressed with the lobby bar service. Two nights in a row, and with different waitresses, we either didn't get what we ordered, were met with confusion or did not get anything until we reminded the staff. The staff seemed inexperienced for this type of a place and with these prices. The hotel did not appear to be very busy either, so it's hard to figure out the reason for the poor service. I am sorry to see this as it negatively impacted our overall impression of the hotel property. We found a completely different service level in the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel the following day, so good service can still be had! I hope it will return to the Seattle property for our next visit to the PNW.

Hotel is beautiful. Many positives. Would stay again. Noise from street is loud. Other reviews mention same issue. Windows are old and do not block traffic sounds. Schucks Oyster Bar is great. Staff is top notch. If price is the major concern Fairmont isn't the way to go. If quality and location are your desire this is a winner.

Stayed for three nights here. The location is superb- particularly handy for the Fifth Avenue theatre and also for the Art Gallery, library and the Transport tunnel at Union/ Third (with the link to the airport). The lobby and restaurant are very beautiful indeed and there is a luxurious air to the place. I had a deluxe room on the corner, which I liked very much- it was spacious, with a huge bed and a comfortable desk/ chair. Breakfast in the morning was very reasonably priced (20 dollars for a very good buffet). My only reservation was the lack of personal contact during the stay- eg no greeting ever from any of the door staff, who were too busy sorting out cars/ taxis or chatting to each other to ever make eye contact with someone going in or out of the hotel.

I liked this hotel very much. went for a business trip w/my husband and he attended a conference there. the service was very good and the setting was beautiful but it was very expensive. I'd consider returning if i was going to splurge, other wise there were many more reasonably priced hotels in the area.

As a frequent Fairmont fan, I have to confess to being disappointed in the Fairmont Olympic. Wow does this hotel need upgrades. It is so outdated! Their only option for rooms with two beds are rooms with two SINGLE beds. Single beds? This isn't Europe, gang. It's Seattle in 2011, with lots of other excellent hotel choices. And, here at the Fairmont Olympic, the in-room wallpaper, carpet and furniture all is looking worn and -- for a Fairmont property -- downright tatty. However, the location is superb, the concierge staff is pretty good and the valet/bellmen are absolutely the best in town.

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We appreciate your concerns about the few twin bedded rooms in the hotel and are happy to advise that we will have those rooms replaced with larger beds in the very near future. Thank you again for your comments.

Our cruise ship stopped in Seattle so we stayed for four days so we could take in what Seattle had to offer a fabulous city, we loved the markets, the needle, the Boeing Factory, the Aquarium was awesome and the Olympic has the best Concierge in the world.

An excellent stay, not sure of the cost per night as we were on a voucher but it was worth the money. So central to all we wanted to do.

Top marks in every way.
