“Spring 2012”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

Our room at the Marriott Waterfront was fantastic. We had 2 balconies with beautiful views of Elliott Bay. Hotel staff was very helpful. We did arrive early and had to wait for our room, but the location was great once we finally checkid in. Will stay hear again if we ever come back for another visit. Location is great!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor facing the water!

I can't say enough about the staff at this hotel and how hospitable and welcoming they are. From the front desk to the valets and bellmen, the service staff at the Hook and Plow - this is an exceptional group of employees who continually went above and beyond in order to assist me with whatever I needed. They helped straighten out check-in and room receipts for 5 different rooms on my bill, as well as packaging and sending my laptop to me after I had forgotten it in the room on check-out. I had a small gathering in the restaurant on Friday evening and this waitstaff could give other hotels lessons in how to serve a large party at this type of gathering. I had a large package to take across the street to an event at Bell Harbor and they arranged for me to use a bell cart briefly to get items to my room. The valet parking, though expensive, was always prompt and courteous so it made the cost less bothersome. I love the proximity to the elevator on Lenora St.(?) that takes you up to the downtown street level.

The food at Hook and Plow was great! (Plus they gave us a couple of sets of silverware to take to our rooms when we asked for them.) The Eggs Benedict I had for breakfast one morning was good, but pricey. Still, great service, right down to one of the chefs who came out to make sure we were enjoying our meal.

My only negative comment was the pool area needs a good power wash on the tiles. The pool is very nice (maintained at a great temperature), but the tile is obviously outdated and is a little dirty looking. Other than that, this is a great hotel.

Room Tip: You have to pay extra for a Harbor view room, but even our room had a (smaller) view of the harbor...

I got to be honest-this hotel is everything you would want in downtown Seattle-very nice rooms with balcony-nicely decorated-the people are very nice and will lead you in the right direction-short walk to the pier as well as fish market-decent restaurant across the street. I would echo that the walls are thin but not too bad. Valet Parking was a bit steep-maybe you can ask for a deal-no self park-it is about a block away.

Room Tip: Ask for balcony

I was a tourist in my own hometown a few weeks ago. Spend a weekend celebrating a birthday (Grandma's 95th) at the Marriott Waterfront Seattle. I have stayed in a couple other hotels in the city, but this was the most enjoyable. Aside from being a very comfortable and well staffed hotel at a reasonable price, the location of the Marriott Waterfront is ideal for a Seattle vacation. Staying here, we were afforded the quintissential view of the Sound and Olympic Mountains off our balcony. Watching the sun rise over the mountains as the ferry's rolled in and out across the Sound was a peaceful respite from a busy weekend. So peaceful, yet only a short three block stroll from Pike Place Market and the core Downtown area!

This location is perfect. Starting our day walking through "The Market", with it's many bakeries and coffee shops was a perfect way to start our day as "tourists". From there, it's no more than a mile in any direction to access some of Seattle's must-see's. To the north, The Space Needle, Seattle Center, and Queen Anne Hill (don't forget to visit Kerry Park!). To the East, the retail core, museums, theaters, and Capitol Hill (home to some of the finest restaurants and people watching Seattle has to offer). To the South you'll find Seattle's oldest neighborhood, Pioneer Square and beyond that, SODO, where you can catch a soccer or baseball game and find some decent BBQ. Also, don't forget to stroll the Waterfront, which is right out the front door of the Marriott. Visit the Aquarium, Ivars (Seattle's most beloved fishhouse), and the multitude of quirky shops. The waterfront is a good way to spend an afternoon or a good starting point for one of the many boat tours you can enjoy.

After a long day of touristing, the Marriott Waterfront is a great place to return to relax for the evening. It has all of the amenities you would expect: restaurants, gift shop, meeting rooms, swimming pool, and 24-hour gym.

Room Tip: Rooms on the South side are right above the indoor-outdoor pool, and might be a bit noisier. Choose...

Stayed at this hotel for a conference in April 2012. The room was spacious and very clean, but the walls were so thin, that I could hear the TV and the person talking next door. Hallway noise was very prevalent, sometimes it sounded as if someone was knocking on your door. The bed was very hard and there were only 2 fiber pillows, the rest were feather. There was the standard fridge and coffeemaker in the room, wished that there had been a microwave. If you are staying for an extended period, I highly recommend asking for a room with a view. My view, was a sliver of bay/ocean front and the side of a parking garage. Also, there is a train track that runs right behind the hotel, and you will hear it, 2-3 times a night.

This hotel is within walking distance from many local attactions, but beware, it is all uphill and if you have mobility issues, it may be a bit daunting. The staff were polite and helpful, but I do wish that I stayed closer to the city center.

Very clean and quiet. Had a great breakfast in the attached restaurant. Would stay there again.
