“Great option in Seattle”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights in March on a Livingsocial Deal that included parking and wifi, although honestly I feel that wifi should be included free at a hotel of this type. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel was very clean and the room well kept and neat. The location in walking distance from Seattle Center and restaurants cannot be beat. We did venture up to the rooftop viewing lounge/deck one night but it was just full of smokers and not as an enjoyable place to be as it could have.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again as the Livingsocial deal made this a very affordable option.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you were able to take advantage of such a great deal for your stay with us, and that you thoroughly enjoyed the location. We aim to keep charges separate so that guests are only paying for what they need during their stay; which is why our prices are so competitive year-round! But I'm glad that your experience was what you needed for your time in Seattle. We would love to have you back for your next visit!

Loved it and will return when travelling as a couple or - as I was - with mslef and one of the kids.

Had a great 2 day /1 night stay at this very quaint hotel and couldn't be happier with the service and cleanliness of the place. Got a great deal on Orbitz, but found that most travel sites were comparable in price. Myself and my 12-yr old had a quick trip from Vancouver to Seattle to take in EMP and other attractions and the locale and vibe of the area didn't disappoint. The hotel itself was extremely well-cared for and offered the little in-room extras that made it that much better: fridge, kitchen sink, microwave, free bottled water, in-room Starbucks coffee and several types of tea. We enjoyed the popcorn for a movie at bedtime on the flat screen TV. Next time we'll take them up on the $4.99 / day bike rental which is a steal and would be a great way to see the town, although the Queen Ann area in which the building is situated is rather hilly. Still, we walked a ton and it was enjoyable.

In the 2 days we were there we walked easily to City Centre a number of times and took the tram downtown for a more urban experience. The hotel isn't more than 10 minutes from EMP, Space Needle, a multitude of museums, a ton of cool neighbourhood restaurants and Key Arena as well as the tram that goes to the retail district. We were early for check-in (noon) and they didn't bat an eye getting us set up, despite the advertised 4 PM check-in time. Reception staff were relaxed and very helpful.

Wifi is just $5 / day for the room and there's a spacious room next to the lobby with set of computers to use free for an hour. The attached Starbucks, as many others have said here, was a bonus. This smallish "boutique hotel on a budget" supplied what was needed in comfortable and clean rooms that were, yes, a smaller space, but laid out with all what we needed for this trip at a rate that made the dinner out easier to splurge for. The ONLY issue I had was that the bath / shower water was just luke warm - not hot - so my morning routine of bath and read with a java had to be brief, or rather not-at-all. Perhaps when we head down in summer I'll by-pass the bath and go for the very cool roof-top scene the have set for the morning beverages.

Lastly, the beds were very nice and offered a great rest. There was street noise, but in an active area with a gong vibe, that can be expected. If prices remain as reasonable going forward, it will be our future landing spot when their is only 2 of us travelling. Or, we'll grab 2 rooms when the 4 of us head south for a weekend. It's very doable.

Room Tip: Upgrade to 2 beds for $10.

Thank you for all of your feedback! I'm glad you both had such an enjoyable stay in the Seattle area. There really is so much to see, do, and walk to, and it looks like you were able to take advantage of most of it! I am sorry to hear about your water temperature the morning of your departure. That is a very unusual thing to happen, and definitely something I wish we could have avoided for you.
For the next time you are in Seattle, please come and stay with us again! We'd love to have you both back.

We visited Seattle last week for Spring Break, and had a great stay at the hotel. Great location, comfortable beds, yummy restaurants (Toulouse Petit/Pesos), and helpful, friendly staff. We used a group on, but I would return again without a discount.

We came to the Mediterranean Inn on a Living Social deal, and have no complaints. Check in was quick and efficient, the room was small but cosy and clean, and we were very close to Seattle Centre with lots of good restaurants close by. Enjoyed!

Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that you found us on a deal and enjoyed your time with us. Though our rooms are sometimes on the "cozier" side, as you described, what we lack in luxury we aim to make up for in reasonable prices for a quality product in a great location. It seems this was the experience you had and and I'm very glad for it!

We hope you'll come back to visit us the next time you are in Seattle.

My wife and I stayed here on a three-day weekend trip to Seattle. We booked the hotel through Orbitz at an extremely reasonable price well off the rack rate which included extra discounts during a "flash" sale. Its Queen Anne location offers a myriad of opportunities for a mix of dining and night club experiences as well as significant Seattle attractions, i.e. Puget Sound, Space Needle, Seattle Center, EMP Music Experience, and over all Seattle downtown. We found the front desk staff especially friendly and helpful. The amenities, i.e. microwaves, fridge, hair dryers, 32" flat screen tv's,etc. are nice to have. The even provide popcorn and Starbucks coffee daily. By the way, there's also a Starbucks connected to the hotel which we found quite convenient. Complimentary umbrellas are also provided which, of course, can come in very handy in Seattle. The rooms are immaculately clean and the beds quite comfortable. Oh, be sure to take in all the beautiful views of the Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline from the deck at the top of the hotel. The fitness center is not the greatest but certainly good enough to get in a nice workout. A couple of drawbacks for some might be the fact they charge an $18 a day fee for parking (A caution: the spaces are exceptionally narrow) and a $5 a day fee for wi fi. They do have a very nice business center with access to six computers along with three computers in the lounge area at no charge which we used and always found available, however. Actually, if one is flying into Seattle for a visit and is only interested in spending time in downtown Seattle, a car is not really needed with all the public transportation available, i.e. light rail from the airport, the monorail, and the bus system, plus just simply walking to all the immediate nearby sites from the hotel. Finally, do request a room with a view on an upper floor. Interior rooms do not have views.. Even though we had paid a significantly discounted price for our room, we requested and were given an outside room on the fifth floor which gave us a nice view of the Sound. We'd definitely look to stay here on any future Seattle visit.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room on an upper floor facing the Puget Sound for a nice view.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I am glad to hear that we were such a great fit for your visit to Seattle. Regarding the drawbacks you mentioned: we do aim to keep extra costs separate by only charging guests for what they will use. Our goal is never to stack up charges, but to offer our product at an affordable price to everyone. This is also how we can offer such great rates as the one you found on Orbitz.com!

Happy to hear the desk staff took such great care of you and were able to show off one of our great rooms and views to you! We hope to see you again on your next Seattle trip.

My friend and I stayed Saturday night, during a weekend in Seattle. It was a Groupon deal but in hindsight we should have paid more and stayed somewhere where we could have actually slept. The traffic noise from the street was so loud that even with the windows closed, earplugs in and the pillow over my head, I had difficulty sleeping. There were sirens, car alarms and voices from the sidewalk most of the night. Another concern is the configuration of the underground parking. The ramps are so steep between levels, my friend's Mazda 3 bottomed out. And the stalls are so small, for every three stalls, only about two cars could safely park. The hotel also smelled of cigarette smoke even though it claims to be nonsmoking.

Room Tip: Try another hotel

Irene,

Thank you so much for your candid feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have the experience that we both would have wanted for your stay with your friend. The area can be a busy one, especially on weekends, and I'm sorry that you were so affected by outside noise. Had we known, we would have gladly offered you and your companion one of our quieter rooms that face our Interior Courtyard. They are ideal for shutting out the street noise.

As for our parking garage, again on busy nights it can get very full which adds to any difficulty parking. We always appreciate constructive feedback, but unfortunately, our parking garage isn't anything we are able to significantly change or restructure at this time.

Finally, we are absolutely 100% non-smoking. At times, we have individuals that think they can make exceptions to this rule. They are charged a fine, and if they do not cease, they are asked to leave the property.

Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate your patronage and would be happy to host you for your next stay in Seattle, but understand if we just aren't the right fit for your needs.

Kelsey Asplund

This hotel is within walking distance of the Seattle center, in a neighbourhood full of restaurants and Safeway. Do beware of scamers calling your room saying they are from the front desk needing your credit card details due to a computer glitch-unfortunately there is nothing the hotel can do to stop them from trying to scame you, but it is so obviously a scam. We got free parking and I loved there was free bottled water. The view from the rooftop is nice. Would stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry for the credit card scam that you experienced during your stay here; I hope you weren't too inconvenienced. It seems to be a constant battle in hospitality for these types of situations, and we are always trying to get better at how to handle them.

Aside from that, I'm glad you found the amenities enjoyable and the location convenient. Come back and see us again soon!
