“way cool watertown!”

my husband and i stayed at the watertown 2 nights and absolutely loved it! our room was immaculate and hip decor. we felt very safe with the room key use in the elevator and parking below was perfect. hubby loved the high speed internet and i had fun with the spa cart.....it didn't all work perfect but was free so no biggy. room even had free microwave popcorn-yum. the shuttle service was great for going downtown; saved us from parking and getting lost. plenty of restaurants and espresso within walking distance and trader joe's right up the street. we enjoyed walking around all the funky shops a couple blocks away on 'the ave'. free breakfast was good and convenient. all the staff were very nice and professional, although did have 2 phone calls not returned. our room was quiet, a/c worked great and the bed was beyond comfortable! loved the aveda products. check in and out was quick. just can't say enough good things about watertown and we really hope to stay again next year!

We spent 4 days on Orcas Island and 4 days in Seattle for our honeymoon in July. After reading all the wonderful reviews on the Watertown we decided to stay there for our Seattle adventure. The budget price and breakfast bar sealed the deal.

Then we arrived at the Watertown..it was around 3:30pm in the afternoon. Our room wasn't yet ready, we waited about 15 minutes in the lobby. Not a huge deal. The staff was very nice and accomodating. We stayed in one of the suites...it was quite a large room, but the couch had many visible stains on it and there were hairs in the jacuzzi tub. Eeeeew.

The bed was comfortable, the views were of the tops of buildings though, the Aveda products were a nice touch, the breakfast was wonderful.

Overall it was an okay place to stay. I don't think we'll ever stay there again. It had a very cold feeling to us, even though the staff was very warm, more of a business traveler hotel I think.

We have stayed at the Watertown several times in the past two years. It is convenient to the University of Washington and all of its activities. The rooms are always clean, bright and spacious. The free high speed internet access is important for our work. The staff is always helpful but could smile more often. A great amenity is the wine tasting at the end of the day.

Our family of four enjoyed a three night stay at the Watertown Hotel over July 4th weekend. The hotel was refreshingly pleasant - including the front desk staff's efficient check-in; the clean, bright and large room; the fine continental breakfast and the absolutely brilliant loaner bikes [our family biked to the Chittenden Locks and Discovery Park - awesome!]. Special kudos to Jeff Jackson for the top-notch shuttle service and great recommendation for the right spot from which to view the Lake Union fireworks on July 4th.

A lot of the previous ***** reviews included a lot of information about the Watertown Hotel so I won't repeat those comments. I loved the decor of our room - it felt more like a modern studio apartment than a hotel room. The vanity counter was very large, which was convenient when we used the microwave. Trader Joe's is only 3 blocks away, so it was easy for us to replenish our supply of snacks.

We stayed at the Watertown hotel after reading all the great reviews. Definitely it is a nice, clean hotel in a safe quiet neighborhood, right by Safeco. All the rooms have a modern, clean style. the hotel itself is quite new, maybe 5-10 years old. the parking is free (which is a plus considering downtown hotels charge for parking). the complimentary breakfast is a very generous buffet consisting of boiled eggs, frozen waffles, selection of teas and starbucks coffee, jam, butter, toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, some fresh fruits. within walking distance, there are plentiful restaurants just one street over, situated right by the university of washington where you can get good cheap eats and soak in the college atmosphere. other amenities that are nice include aveda hair and skin products in the bathrooms, and you can get a complimentary cart. i got the spa cart which had some nice bath products and a foot massager and relaxing cd. the only gripe i had is driving in to downtown seattle for tourist activities may prove a chore as seattle traffic can be a bit bad. i might try a downtown hotel next time i visit seattle, just to get a better feel for the sophistication of this city. overall though, Watertown is a great hotel for the money.

Our family of 4 recently stayed at the Watertown hotel. It is a new hotel and our room (2 queen beds) are tastefully decorated. The bath soaps and lotions came from Aveda, a well know brand. The windows are insulted and you don't hear the noise from the streets. The staff, who must be all college students, are very attentive and friendly. The breakfast buffet is good and definitely a step up from the breakfast from other chain hotels such as residence inn or hampton inn. Since this is a new hotel, all the beddings and furnitures look and feel like new. We asked for a computer cart and it kept the kids busy surfing the internet. THere isn't much tourist activities close by but good resturants and shops are all within short driving distance. U of Washingon is next door and the hotel will lend you a bike to ride around campus. Great exercise during the summer. Overall, a good hotel and a very reasonable price.
