Went to Ba Bar for happy hour with a bunch of friends during my last visit to Seattle (early December 2012), and I was pleasantly surprised. Being Asian and truly appreciative of authentic Asian cuisine, I am usually wary of places that claim/seem to be "fusion" Asian. However, by the time I tasted their delicious and fresh cocktails, I was ready to give their food a fair chance. And I am glad I did. The food (dumplings, clams, skewers, prawns) did not suffer from fusion-ification. In fact, I found their take on Chinese and Vietnamese food refreshing and modern yet completely tasty.
Ba Bar has clean-lined and lovely decor, which imparts a youthfully elegant atmosphere that suits the neighborhood and clientele. The fact that it opens until late (until 2AM on weekdays and 4AM on weekends) is definitely the frosting on this tasty cake of a restaurant.
