“Fun fun fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

This is a gross but FUN iconic piece of Seattle (pun intended!). I will admit to contributing a time or two, myself! If you are going into it knowing what you are looking at - chewed up gum - you will enjoy the whimsy and "ew" factor at the same time! Enjoy your visit and DO go at least once!

“Why do people like this?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

I live in the Seattle area, and have of course been by the Gum Wall several times while down at the market. However, I would not say it is a destination at all. It's actually very gross. Maybe from a distance it is cool with all of the colors...but the closer you get, you realize the gum came from all of those people's mouths. Ewwwww!!!!! There are much better and exciting things to see in Seattle. But I guess if you are "in" to weird and gross things, it will literally be just up your alley.

“so nasty”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

I can remember this thing years and years ago and as a little kid it was icky, but as a grown adult who's germophobic, it was just flat out gross. maybe if they sprayed some lacquer over it and locked all that nastiness in it would be okay.

“Yucky pooh!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

Might be iconic but I found it disgusting. It's like mouth litter on public buildings. Must be an age thing to find it cool to look at this type of street art.

“It's a wall of gum...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

It's intriguing how much gum has made it on to one wall and how people just keep adding to it, but it's also pretty gross. It carries the fine balance juuuuust right though. Worth a trip for a first timer, but just weird as a local.
