“Beautiful Hotel & Great Pre-cruise Option for Group of 4!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2009

We stayed at this hotel for one night before our Alaska cruise. I chose it because we had 4 adults and this hotel had a separate bedroom. (It also had a kitchen, but that wasn't important to us.)

It exceeded our every expectation! The rooms were georgeous -- beautifully decorated in trendy, contemporary themes, king bed, 2 large flat panel TVs, granite countertops, etc. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was better than any continental breakfast I've had.

It was a bit away from the usual tourist attractions, but a quick taxi ride. The street car line is also close by.

Marriott's Residence Inns seldom disappoint. This hotel was in a nice location away from downtown but with public transportation that takes you straightaway there. It is across the street from the lake with a multitude of restaurants. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom because we had two dogs - how considerate and accommodating! Service was great, free hot breakfast was great, our room with full kitchen was great, the surroundings were great, the price was great. We stayed at the Residence Inn in Portland last summer and found all the same wonderful qualities: GREAT!

My wife and I stayed here during our first trip to Seattle. We have stayed at other Residence Inns around the east coast and this one did not disappoint. As a matter of fact it was better than we expected!

Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and the hotel was very clean. It was located out of the main downtown area but close enough to get there. It only took us about 5 minutes to get to the main waterfront by car.

The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable (which is important to us). Another important fact was it was super quiet. No noise from the outside (traffic) or from the inside (hallway or other rooms). The bathroom was very clean and well laid out.

The breakfast buffet was nice, which was pretty basic for a Residence Inn. We did not partake in the managers reception on Wednesday, but it looked nice.

The only negative comment is you have to pay for parking (which you have to anywhere in Seattle), but the parking is under the hotel, which I assume would be owned by the hotel. The parking was $19 a day, plus a $3 tax on top of that (which we did not know about).

There are several restaurants around the hotel, which were pretty pricey. There is an Outback down the street and a Buca di Beppo next to it (so good!).

All I can say is when I go back to Seattle I will stay here!

While not a luxury hotel, it was VERY, very nice. Comfortable, clean, roomy. Beautiful indoor atrium layout. Right on Lake Union, just a short train or taxi ride to Pikes Market and downtown. Several great restaraunts right across the street.

Our extreemly long day started off with a 6:00am flight, then toured 2 colleges with our teens. When we arrived, our rooms were not ready and our teens were asleep on the lobby couches. The managers quickley upgraded our room when they saw the kids. The room as so wonderful!!! Two bedrooms, two full baths and a full kitchen. Our view was fantastic (right on the lake) and we had a huge patio that wrapped around . The beds were so comfy and the place was so clean. The breakfast was nice and hot and the cookies in the afternoon were great too! The staff was so helpful with directions and places to eat . Highly recommend!

The best thing about the place is that the rooms really are "suites", which to me means that there's a bedroom where you can close the door and a separate living room area. That these rooms also have a kitchen is icing on the cake. Fresh, bright furniture. Our room didn't have a water view (probably because we booked through Priceline). At the end of one day I really enjoyed returning to the room, putting on my jammies, popping some popcorn, grabbing a beer from the frig and watching a movie. Wonderful selection at breakfast and plenty of tables to sit at and eat in the lovely atrium. Across the street are several restaurants to choose from - A couple of more expensive places like Joey's and Daniels Broiler, but also a Hooter's and, a little further down the street, an Outback. One day I walked to the Pike Place Public Market. It's about 1.5 miles away and there wasn't much to look at or enjoy along the way. Parking is $19 plus tax and you don't have to deal with a valet. Housekeepers were particularly nice. Their names were Hang and Belma and they were always smiling, saying hello, and made our room spotless every day. One even wrote a thank you note for the daily tip we left. There's an area in the lobby where you can buy soup, frozen entrees, cereal, beverages, etc. or they'll do the grocery shopping for you if you give them a list(for a fee, I'm sure). The only thing missing was the fireplace that we've enjoyed at many of the other Residence Inns, but I'd rather have the separate bedroom any day! Really glad we found a good place to land on our frequent trips to Seattle.

  • Liked — Being able to read in the bedroom while my husband worked on the computer and made business calls in the living room.
  • Disliked — The high parking rates downtown just bug me.

Residence Inn was a good place to stay as we were able to continue our half-marathon training - the Lake Union circuit being a good route near a city centre. Suite room was large although bathroom small, given that half of the large lounge felt unfurnished. Decor was uninspiring. Free breakfast buffet is hardly gourmet but good enough to start the day. Really, it fits the spec - space and facilities for longer stays at economical price. Access to centre very easy via modern quiet tram service. Reception staff always friendly and keen to give advice. Lots of restaurant choice nearby.

  • Liked — Practicality, location
  • Disliked — Bland appearence
