This is not the most comfortable hotel in Seattle....the room furnishings are tired, the TV's are small and the linens are average, but wow was it great to be steps always from work at the Convention Center, shopping, entertainment and food. I brought my teenage son for school clothes shopping and he loved having his own room to relax in our upgraded for a fee King corner suite but the advertised "sofa" was a metal love seat with lumpy cushions. At this price point I expected a nice couch or a sofa sleeper. We loved the NYC deli off the lobby and the Starbucks next door. Room service was excellent....really good food, large selection and super fast... but one special order was completely missed. Otherwise, the staff was a delight....friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: A room with a view of Elliott Bay is best.

We loved our one night stay here. The bed was comfortable, the electronic blackout shades were impressive, and the bathroom was gorgeous and well appointed (steam shower & separate soaking tub). My only complaint was that the wifi was not complimentary. Instead of the complimentary qtips and toothpaste, I'd rather not have to spend $10/day for internet access! We stayed at 3 other hotels during our trip (Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver and back to Seattle at a different hotel) and every other hotel offered free wifi. It just seems like something standard that hotels should offer their guests. If I were choosing between this hotel and another similar one, and the other offered free wifi, I'd go with the other hotel. Get with the times, Grand Hyatt! Aside from the wifi though, everything else was great about this hotel.

Room Tip: We requested a higher floor level and the room was very nice.

Very close to everything I wanted to see. CenturyLink Field, safeCo, and public market. There is a ton of food options with a sushi bar starbucks, Ruth Chris and a Cheesecake Factory in the same building. If you need it there is also a hertz car rental in the same building. One thing I would want is a balcony. Bathroom has a shower and a tub.

We spent a week in Seattle and loved staying at the Grand Hyatt. The hotel is centrally located, has great facilities/amenities and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Ideally located on Pine St, the Grand Hyatt is only a 10 minute walk from the Pike Place Market, and a 3-5 minute walk from major shops (including Nordstrom and Macy's) and the monorail which takes you to the Space Needle. The ferries to the beautiful islands are also only a short distance away and we were able to enjoy a great baseball game at Safeco field which was a 10 minute trip on the light rail that runs next to the hotel. We took the Shuttle Express from the airport to the hotel which cost $18 per person one way, although the light rail is a cheaper and equally viable option.

We booked an Elliott Bay view room on one of the highest floors and it was definitely worth it. The view of downtown and Puget Sound from the big window was stunning! The room itself was large and had all of the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel, including a coffee machine that brewed (what else!) Starbucks coffee. The bathroom was huge with a large shower and a beautiful bathtub. The only minus (for a 5 star hotel) was the towels, which seemed a bit thin and worn out considering how plush the rest of the bathroom was!

There are several food outlets in the hotel, including a Starbucks, Ruth's Chris and New York Deli with great sandwiches. However, many other options are available near by, including the amazing variety at Pike Place market (Try the mouth watering toasted Beecher's sandwiches and the divine Greek yoghurt from Ellenos. Equally good are the breakfasts at Bacco and Lowell's, and the Piroshky selection). The hotel is "attached" to a parking lot which charges $30 for overnight parking and you can self-park. There is an elevator that takes you from the parking lot directly into the hotel, which was useful.

All of the staff at the hotel were warm and friendly. The check in was efficient and the housekeeping staff were consistent and came at the same time every day. Unlike some other Hyatt properties, there were no issues with noise and thin walls. The interior of the hotel is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, although low lighting used so it is a bit dark in the corridors and the lobby.

Seattle has so much to offer and we highly recommend the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, which is a must see, as well as the Boeing factory tour and the Museum of Flight which has an actual Air Force One and Concorde that you can walk through. The Space Needle is also a lovely experience but expensive if you're buying tickets at the door, so get the CityPass which includes most of these sights for only $64.

We loved Seattle and staying at the Grand Hyatt made the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a fantastic place to stay in and explore Seattle from!

Room Tip: Book a room with a view of Elliott Bay on one of the higher floors.

The hotel isn't bad by all means , the room was quite nice , the bathroom was large , the room itself was quite bland and the beds were small. The staff were all friendly especially Alex on the Club floor , and todd (not sure his name) at the front desk was lovely too.

he club floor itself however was one of the worst we have been to , it was two small for the rooms that can access the lounge ( about 7 floors) and was too busy and ran out of food twice during our stay (inside of breakfast and Hors d'oeuvres ) . We had to complain. We don't like giving bad reviews.

The also was a bad noise when sleeping that kept us up , sounded like water mateneicne , but that was only one night.

Probably wouldn't stay again , as before we Stayed at the Pan Pacific .

Room Tip: save money don't go to club,.

My husband and I traveled with another couple, we booked two standard rooms for a 3-day weekend here (March 2013). This hotel has such a great location, especially for out of towners. We walked to every attraction: Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Seattle Waterfront, the mall was a few streets over, etc. The standard rooms were beautiful. I was taken back by the decor, so much so that I envisioned it in my own home some day. I'm usually very weary of traveling to Seattle bc of the rain. It did drizzle the whole time we were there, but it wasn't cold. It was actually quite beautiful and an accepted break from the hot California sun. Here's a quick shot of what I thought about the hotel:

Positives:
Rooms were gorgeous
Staff was delightful, they even gave us pointers on where to go (gave us coupons) and what to see
Convenient to local, popular attractions
Quiet, beautiful well kept grounds
Pool and spa/sauna were indoors - they keep this area immaculate, I felt totally comfortable going barefoot
High rise building with average views
Best part? From the airport we took the train to the hotel which dropped us at a stop walking distance from the hotel! No outrageous cab or shuttle fares!

Negatives:
I don't have any this time! :)

Had had 2 days of meetings and stayed for 5 total days with the Hyatt. The function went very smoothly - both food and layout. The rooms here are gorgeous and we were taken back with the customer service. The room staff are excellant in maintaining a spotless environment - the turn down service was a hit. Our bellman was a great kid who just started 5 weeks before - I am in the service business and his demenor and skills were top notch. A true reflection of all the staff here. We would definately use this hotel again for all of our trips to Seattle.

Room Tip: we couldnt upgrade to a suite but the regular rooms are kcicking great - decor is beautiful.
