Our room was clean and ready early. The bathroom was big and we had a nice view. My only complaint was the beeping from the parking lot below. Every time a car leaves the warning buzzer goes and the was a huge convention on. This is a Seattle issue and not a hotel problem. Gym was nice too

Having stayed in many hotels around the world, this one included, it is disappointing that this most recent visit has been far from satisfactory. From the Bell Captain only opening the door and not assisting with luggage, to the indifference of the club lounge staff, there is a distinct lack of cohesion and friendliness towards the patrons by the staff as a whole.

In addition to the comments above the hotel is tired and in need of updating and or a complete overhaul…

I stayed here because of a conference, but extended my stay to enjoy the city, and was able to get a pre-paid rate (where you cannot cancel, but get the lowest rate possible) for $169, the same as the conference group rate. Ample service staff to assist in any way possible, they were efficient, friendly, and professional. The gym was open 24 hours (rare for many hotels), and the spa stood out as being clean, nice indirect lighting, and offering a jacuzzi that was actually hot, not tepid, with a steam and dry sauna that was open until 11:00 pm. After a chilly day sightseeing, its was great to grab the in-room robes, and get a quick warm up. Chris Steak House could be directly accessed off the main lobby, and had an awesome double happy hour (before 6pm and after 9pm) with $6 prime rib sliders, $5 martinis, and $5 flatbread pizza, and more. Location was prime, near the main downtown shopping center, restaurants, and walking distance to Pikes' market and the waterfront. Only downside, is the single bank of elevators that occasionally required a longer than usual wait during check out time. Wish the beds had a quilt with duvet rather than just sheets and blankets, but the room heater was sufficient, and the bathrooms were large with a separate shower and tub. I would stay here again just for the location alone.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms will clear the downtown buildings so you can get a view of the bay and the waterf...

Thank you for your review! We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay here at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. Our central downtown location make it so easy for our guests to experience all the great attractions and entertainment that the city has to offer. The Pikes Place Market is only a 10 minute walk and there are blocks full of shopping in between. It's great that you enjoyed the the amenities and the room as your comfort and happiness are our number one priority. We hope to see you again on your next trip to Seattle.

Stayed for one night prior to a return flight to UK. Book a corner suite direct through the hotel website as the rate was very competitive.

Corner Suite - Request a room on a high floor with a view of Elliott Bay, via booking form. This was all sorted when I checked in and the room had great view.

The room was very good with a nice sitting area an excellent bathroom and a good quality bed with decent linens. however, the room was a little battered in places.

As can often be the case in large hotels it did feel a little 'soulless' and corporate however, I did not have any need to interact with hotel staff so they did particularly have the opportunity to impress.

The location is great for downtown Seattle with a vast array of shopping, dining and attraction right outside the door. It was also very convenient for for the I5 with the journey to the airport taking lass than 15 minutes by car. (This was on a Saturday Morning, it may be different at rush hour in the week!)

Parking is very expensive at $30 a night, however to be fair this seems to be true of all the major hotels in downtown Seattle.

I would also like to see Internet Connectivity included in the rate.

I stayed here for 6 days for a conference. The rate included breakfast though this was weirdly in-room as there was no other way to have breakfast.(hotel didn't have a buffet nor an a-la carte breakfast service). The in-room breakfast took ages to be delivered and didn't taste up to my satisfaction. I'm allergic to synthetic fabric. The pillow cases were synthetic, I immediately requested cotton ones from the front desk. Even though front desk assured me several times that they'll be sourcing cotton pillow cases and bedding, they were unable to do so within 6 days I stayed there.

We stayed over the President's day weekend. We drove into the valet and were told that valet parking was $40/day and if we wanted self parking it would be $30/day around the block at the parking garage. (There is access by elevator from the parking garage to the Hyatt lobby.) Convenient but pricey.
Check in was very friendly and quick. We got to our room and it was average as far as the furnishings and had a view of the highway 5 and surrounding buildings.
This hotel charges for everything including wifi, which we were told was free since we signed up for the Hyatt rewards but turns out we still would have to pay with no explanation. (Getting reception from our room was slow or non-existent)
The location is downtown next to shopping, blocks from the public market and about 15 min walk to the waterfront.
There are restaurants within walking distance as well.
Personally we would not stay here again as I feel the location was decent but did not feel so safe at night due to many (many) people standing on corners or walking around that appear to be drug addicts or homeless.
Also we were not impressed by the room or the charges for the parking and wifi.

My wife and I stayed here because of all the great reviews however, we really ended up with a terrible experience. This was our mini honeymoon until later this year when we are going on a much bigger vacation.

We booked a NON-smoking king room on but the whole room including the bed sheets and carpets wreaked of smoke. On top of that, the guests staying in the room beside us had people coming in and out of their rooms from 10:00PM until 3:30AM. They appeared to be filming a movie that included having people gather around the hallways in front of our room door as well.

We contacted hotel staff to inform that this was happening and it was extremely annoying hearing the heavy doors slamming closed everytime someone entered and exited their doors which was every 10 minutes or so.
Hotel staff security eventually came to talk to the guests but could not do anymore to prevent the noise or the traffic coming in and out of the room. They had suggested that they were fully booked and could not offer another room. It was unfortunate, that I had pre-paid the booking thru Expedia since I would hvae requested a refund to our stay.

The location of the hotel was great and that was the only good part of our stay.

Room Tip: If you are a non-smoker make sure you do get a non-smoking room
