“Huge Bathrooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2012

I wasn't sure what to expect checking in here. I got a corporate rate which was good but didn't expect the rooms to be updated and nice. When I checked in I asked for a room on a higher floor so it would be quieter and maybe get a view. I got a 24th floor room but with 2 double beds instead of the king. I was so impressed with the updated room and flat screen tv but the bathroom put it over the top! A big soaking tub and a separate steam shower! WOW! The automated room darkening shades were cool. The complimentary umbrella in the room was nice for walks to the local restaurants, shopping and Pike Place Market.

I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint was that the only restaurant option in the hotel was Ruths Chris Steakhouse. I love Ruths and good steak but it was too expensive for my corporate budget. I ended up eating at the Tap House down the block.
Since the Texas Rangers were staying here too I did get to see a few players and coaches at the bar.

Room Tip: Higher floors may have a view.

I stayed here for a conference and was upgraded to an exec suite. It was very nice. No complaints at all about the rooms or bath. Great amenities, free wifi, lots of room. Housekeeping was generally very good, too. My problem was with the hotel and conference staff. There were several snafu's associated with packages sent to me and by me. The common areas were just "ok" for me, too.
Other plus's: Very close to the lightrail and many restaurants. Great neighborhood. The bell staff, who I conversed with a lot, were very helpful.
Other negatives: Bar prices were a bit high (Ruth Chris) and it took staff over a day to remove a blinking phone light?

Perfect location for walking round Seattle. Hotel is luxurious and very accommodating. Staff was great. Room was a good size and comfortable. Blackout shades made sleeping great. Bathroom was palatial. Only major criticism is the charge for wifi in the room. We have our own so it doesn't matter but it just seems very out of step with the times.

My wife and I have stayed at the several Grand Hyatt hotels, and this is my new favorite. We were upgraded to a corner room with a water view, and the room was perfect for us. It didn't seem like a hotel room, which is a good thing. The bathroom was amazing with a big tub and separate shower. Also, the Grand Club is worth doing; the employees up there were very helpful and nice. We enjoyed breakfast there each morning. Thanks for a great experience!

Room Tip: The Grand Club is worth it

Here's the Good: Rooms are big, clean and on the whole views are beautiful. The location can't be beat and is an easy walk to Pike Place, central district shopping and very easy access to airport light rail. Back to hotel the concierge lounge was very good and breakfast was excellent.

The Bad or what deprived the Grand Hyatt of 5th green dot. Had reserved two connecting rooms which central reservations lead me to assume were confirmed (travelling with a 10 and 11 yr old so connecting rooms were a definite requirement)- rather than immediately present us with a solution, hotel presented a problem and only after manager was called and some unpleasant exchanges was a solution found. If solution had been offered from get go a lot of unpleasantness could have been avoided. I always tell people don't tell me what the problem is unless you have a viable solution- all it does is cause stress!

This is my second stay at the Grand and again for business dealings at the convention center just around the block.

Pros:
-Closest hotel to the convention center.
-Beautiful roomy bathroom, nice bed, good rate.
-Excellent work out room—free headsets.
-Great hot tub and steam room

Cons:
-None with the hotel.

Tips:
Get a refrigerator since the one in the room is a ticking time bomb if you touch it—you buy it!
