“Better off Next Door”
Reviewed May 2, 2009

Booked the Holiday Inn in advance for just the night before coming home fromm Seattle. Booked a kids suite on the executive floor as it provides access to the club lounge and you get breakfast.
Arrival was good and efficient and they recognised the platium card but did not offer or provide any benefits.
Room was freezing and very cramped thought eh kids loved the bunk beds.
There was a microwave sink and coffee maker but no almosr no wardrobe space. The bathroom was simply awful. Cramped cold and the vent open to the elements incluiding all the street noise.
We had arrived late and did not explore. The following day we had breakfast in the lounge and were the only guests. It was terrible on almost every level. Choice was poor quality worse and absolutely no service.
We were due to leave for London at 7pm and so requested a late check out. 3pm was all we wanted and given the platinum status thought it would be simple. Not a bit of it. They have no staff post 12.30 and so no late checkout was allowed. As a result we packed up and left our stuff in the ar while we had a look around Seattle.
Given our experience in Bellingham 10 days earlier we should have stayed at the HI express next door. I will next time. Avoid

I'm saddened to see this guest's review. We pride ourselves on service and are in the top 18% of all Holiday Inns in the US to reflect this. Unfortunately this guest had an unfortunate experience and I was not made aware of any of it. Sadly this is often the case. Believe it or not, Hotel Management wants to SOLVE any issue guests have. It's just up to you to let us know about it. Late checkouts, althernate rooms, etc are all possible.

If this gets back to the guest who wrote this review, I welcome them to contact me at any time.

Thank you for providing this service.

The Hotel was nice and seemed fairly new or newly remodeled. I was staying at this hotel at the recommendation of the group I was with. The price was negotiated via the group and was average IMO. I debated on staying somewhere else for a cheaper rate but decided against it as I would have to drive to this hotel to meetup with everyone else.

The location is A+, very close to downtown a cheap cab ride into the city or most other places downtown. You can walk to Whole foods market or a number of restaurants are within 15-20 min walk or drive. It is also a few blocks away from the space needle.

The hotel is across the street from a nice park (more about that park later) and within a few steps of a restaurant that serves pretty good food and has a bar as well. The room was clean as well as hallways and exterior grounds. There are 2 elevators that serve the hotel and parking areas, however one elevator is VERY slow and the other one is always packed with people.

Parking is underground and I believe was an extra $10.00 a day, I thought about not paying the $10/day to park on the street. Needless to say after it started to get dark I realized I better pony up the $10 bucks or I might be calling the rental car company to tell them the car is stolen.

Now about that park, it is a lovely little park during the day lots of trees and a small pathway, joggers, people walking around etc..etc.. Well when the sun goes down it turns into a scary place..the hookers come out and so do some other un-savory folks that dwell on the night.

***** 5 star clean ever corner is clean. ALL employee of the Holiday Inn Seattle 211Dexter Ave. North, Seattle, Wa 98109 . Was very helpful and friendly. The room was peacefull and comfortable.
The restaurant next door was clean. and the food good. The bus service in Seattle was quick and easy to use. The desk courts help us fined the wright bus to catch. We want to a boat show at Qwest Center to China town for dinner back to the Holiday Inn on the Seattle bus system. Get off and on when we want. The Holiday in location was great for coming and going.

Good clean hotel and close to many famous Seattle attractions. Upon our check-in, we were greeted by very nice and knowledgeable staff who gave us tour maps of the area and coupons to use in the restaurant/lounge attached to the hotel. Only had breakfast, but it was excellent with good friendly staff. Room very nice andclean, comfortable bed. Nice updated furnishings and remodeled rooms. Free internet.Walked to the Space Needle within a few minutes. The only downside to the hotel was the $10 parking fee per night, but most of the parking in downtown Seattle is pretty expensive anyway. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning on doing touristy things in Seattle and who doesn't want to pay for an expensive downtown Seattle hotel.

I have to admit - I stay with Holiday Inn/Express because they are appx 20% cheaper that same class Hilton/Marriott hotels (Garden Inn, etc) and because they offer double miles. Taken away those incentives and I'd always stay at Hilton/Marriott.

This particular hotel in Seattle is nothing extraordinary - you get what you've paid for. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, parking is $10 (show me the same class hotel with free secured parking - I'll stay there next time).

I'd recommend stay here if you are for a business meeting(s) and those are primarily in downtown. However if you need to travel other side of the lake than probably it would be better to find something there. Traffic on ALL roads is a disaster. Avoid I-405 at ALL costs. It took me 45 minutes to travel 12 miles - you've got an idea.

The Holiday Inn Seattle is located approximately 6 blocks from the downtown Nordstrom and Belltown, 12 blocks to the market, and 3 blocks to the new Whole Foods and the South Lake Union Streetcar. Like Belltown and Downtown, there are homeless in the area and a lot of construction around. That being said, we walked around during the day and night and never felt unsafe. Our double room with a king bed was clean, large and nicely furnished (and free Wi-Fi and business center). There is an on-site restaurant and reasonable secure parking ($10). For the price paid, the Holiday Inn Seattle gives you a lot of value in this increasingly expensive city..
