This is a very nice hotel in which to stay in Seattle, close to Seattle Center, the Space Needle, the Experience Music Project as well as convenient to public transit and the wharf area of Seattle. I have only one complaint and that is that all of the underground parking spaces are labeled "Small Car Space" and are therefore very difficult to get in and out of, and subjects larger vehicles to door dents. Other than that, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast inclusion in the room rate would be a nice added feature, although this is not offered at this time.

The best thing I can say about the Holiday Inn Seattle is that it is mediocre. Not bad. Certainly not good. Mediocre.

It is in a nondescript area populated by similar hotels just far enough from Pike Place to necessitate a cab but if you are driving and willing to risk traffic and parking the nightly cost is less than you'll pay for overnight parking at a downtown hotel. Seattle Center is within a half-mile and you can catch the Monorail there. The coffee at the hotel restaurant is thin -- a sin in Seattle -- and there is no alternative within walking distance - another sin. Besides at $150 plus high taxes a night there should be complimentary coffee in the lobby. The local paper showed up at our door one morning but not the next, the bed was too soft, front desk responses were spotty and the elevator was slow.

Like I said, mediocre. I think you can do better. We will try next time we are in Seattle.

Seattle is a very very expensive city for hotels. we went in early July prior boarding a cruise. We got a kid suite for 280/ngt and it is a deal. the room is with a king, a bunk bed with Xbox console in the room, this a 3 stars hotel! Without breakfast. ( I think H.I. express next door includes breakfast)
Room was decent size. Location is ok, 10 mns walk to Seattle Space Ctr and monorail., a Macdonald across the space Ctr for whoever is interested. There are lots of restaurants within 10 mns walk on 7th or 8th st I believe. We did not eat at restaurant on site, but opt for Macdonald for breakfast...
The area has bus directly from Pioneer Square. It is a bit remote so quiet and safe. The whole Seattle downtown is walkable with a map, it is approx 3-4 hrs and you see what you need to see as a tourist.
We were super lucky with weather, the 2 days we were there, it was sunny and blue sky, pretty rare so it seems, so the whole city is vibrant and loaded with energy. People with flowers from Pike Market, super cheap, will dress up my room if I would stay longer.
Overall, nothing to boast about the hotel, it is a decent 3 stars, yôu get what you regular get from a 3 stars.

And, no coffee in the lobby! But, this older Holiday Inn is conveniently located, especially for people who like to walk. We got to the Paramount Theater in less than 15 minutes (to see "The National"), and also got to Pike Place Market in less than 15 minutes. The HI provides underground parking, but there are 10 hour meters on the streets as well. There will be rooms with a view of the Space Needle, but we didn't have one. There is a coffee pot in the room, plus a fridge and microwave. There is a restaurant next door where one could get fresh coffee as early at 6.30 am (I believe), and it looked like there were plenty of customers eating there as well. Front desk staff was friendly, helpful. Whole Foods and Starbucks are a short walk away (5 minutes).

Room Tip: If you want a room with the view of the Space Needle, ask for it :)

Nice, up-to-date and clean rooms, not noisy despite being on a somewhat busy road. Easy to walk to Seattle Center, Belltown restaurants and bars, and in about 20 minutes also to Pike Place market. Recommended.

My husband & I stayed here for one night in August. We won the hotel on priceline. At first I was worried about the location being far but it turned out to be perfect. Walking distance to most of what we wanted to do. We were able to walk or take public transportation the whole time, including to and from the airport. Had a great stay, room was nice, and it was affordable. I would stay there again.
