Don't let the neighborhood (?) stop you from pulling into Mekong Village. It is an oasis among this decaying part of Aurora.
Mekong Village is a quiet refuge of really good and authentic food. The service was impeccable and the waiter very knowledgeable about he food and the ingredients. He knew his stuff.
We ordered fresh rolls with shrimp (two large rolls for $3.50) and they were excellent and nicely presented with two dipping bowls of a spicy peanut sauce.
I ordered a steak salad and it was perfection with a sweetened rice wine vinegar dressing and fresh greens. The cost was an amazing $6.95
The menu is extensive and the prices are a lot lower for lunch than for dinner.
