Description: Pintxo (pronounced pin-cho peen-cho) is a Spanish Tapas Bar located in the heart of Belltown. Pintxo's micro-kitchen, smaller than most food truck kitchens, produces a vast array of basque small bites from traditional favorites such as paella and bacon wrapped dates to house cured meats, seafood and other dishes from San Sebastián, Bilbao and Valladolid. Tortilla Española, Bacalao Fritters, Montaditos de Serrano and Patatas Bravas to modern takes on the traditional dishes from various culinary regions of Spain, including San Sebastian, Barcelona and Madrid. Working in Pintxo's small but mighty kitchen, and without a gas grill, Chef de Cuisine David Haight and Sous Emelio Sansone use fresh ideas to create flavorful dishes. The seafood-forward menu, often consists of house-curing, poached dishes and unique ingredients like sea foam [not sure what to use here] . While a majority of the food is sourced locally, some ingredients such as the Spanish Cheeses and Jamon Iberico de bellota (cured ham from the acorn fed Iberico pig) Spanish octopus, Mediterranean Mussels and SPECIFIC NAME HERE clams are frequently used to create the traditional dishes that have been made in Spain and Pais Vasco (Basque Country) Basque country for centuries. The beverage menu features wine, liquor, beer and cider/cidra from Spain, although local wine and beer are also readily available and easily paired with PIntxo's Pintxo's bold and flavorful food. Like Pintxo's kitchen, the dining room is intimate and features bar and table seating as well as a front and back patio on sunny days and a well lit indoor atrium.

Great, somewhat small tapas restaurant near downtown Seattle. We went in the summer, so were able to sit outside in their lovely patio area. The menu was diverse and all the food was wonderful. One of our party was a vegetarian, and their were lots of options for her. Highly recommended.

Pintxo occupies a long, narrow space with the open kitchen up front --a very good thing, because you can witness the conditions under which your food is being prepared. It has a stylish, yet casual and comfortable feel, the kind of place where you want to linger over your food and enjoy a conversation. They offer a number of "small plates" -- the bacon-wrapped dates are indeed very good, as were the "patatas bravas" -- potatoes fried and dusted with what tasted like a smoked paprika. Even though we arrived without reservations and the restaurant was quite full, they did take care to find a place for us. Service was attentive without being overbearing and our server did seem genuinely concerned that we enjoy the food, was knowledgeable about the offerings and had constructive suggestions when we asked. For $60 (including tax), we received two bocadilios -- sandwiches on crusty baguettes with loads of interesting grilled and roasted vegetables -- one had chorizo and the other, grilled portobello -- both yummy, an order of the famous dates, an order of potatoes, an order of pimentos padron , and a couple of drinks. The sangria was good and strong, not the weak, watered down with fruit-juice type you often get, and a generously poured bubbly Cava in a tall, aesthetically pleasing stemless glass. For dessert we shared a bread pudding that seemed to use that same wonderful crusty bread, "smothered in dulce de leche caramel sauce" and I am still dreaming about that! It was certainly large enough to share. The server informed us that the dulce de leche caramel sauce is made in the traditional way, from scratch, using real condensed milk. Oh - and some very excellent coffee served in a little press pot. The food is prepared with thought and care, served in a setting where you can enjoy it and spend a pleasant, comfortable evening. We did not go at Happy Hour, but if we had, we could have enjoyed the same items for about 25% less overall.

Even since they closed another Spanish restaurant, I found this one and became my very favorite! It makes me feel like when I'm in Madrid grabbing a good wine with awesome tapas! Every time I have a chance I go there! Things that you need to try: pimientos padron, patatas bravas, tortilla espaniona, bread with manchego cheese, yummmy!!

The quality of the tapas was unfortunately overshadowed by the noise inside the restaurant and in the patio seating, it was spoiled by an overbearing smell of grease from the kitchen. Our visit was very disappointing in that the food was ok, not abundant in portion size and there was no draft beer and a very limited selection of bottled beers.

Small restaurant, but very good tapas. It isn't very obvious from the street--you might have to look twice to see the sign at night.
