“== mostly good, yet average ==”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

This very large restaurant didn't start us off on the right foot: they were out of foie gras, swordfish and mussels, on a busy Friday night.

We then chose a selection of oysters (very good), their version of oyster Rockefeller (very good) and a small portion of halibut which was also very good but over-priced at $34. They had no gluten-free bread.

It was our waitress' first night which showed but we didn't mind because it was obvious she cared. We shared the chocolate mousse for dessert: delicious and copious.

We hear there are seafood restaurants in Seattle that offer better value, but we didn't visit any. I wavered between an 'average' rating and 'very good'. This place wasn't very good when I thought hard and long, so average it is. Had we gotten what we wanted we might feel different.

“darn good fish”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

The restaurant is within blocks of the Seattle Convention Centre. It is a large open space affair with two levels and a long bar on the lower level. There are some booths. There is lots of glitz and glass and other hard surfaces, so it tends to be a bit noisy. It is popular so it can be crowded. On the other hand the fish was excellent and well prepared. My wife's black cod was tender and perfectly cooked. My petrale sole, on a bed of buttered mashed potatoes was very good. The waiter did screw up the order by bringing two black cod, but within short order he returned one and came back a bit later with my sole. The Frog's Leap Riesling was excellent. If you like well prepared fish and a lively atmosphere, then this is a good restaurant

“Reliably excellent, conveniently located”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Consistently fine food in a great location makes this place a top choice for downtown Seattle dining. It's just steps away from the shopping and movies at Pacific Place, a short walk to the Paramount Theater, and a stone's throw from major hotels. But the food is what keeps me coming back. Lunch, weekend brunch, and dinner have never disappointed. Superbly prepared seafood takes top billing on the menu, of course, and it shines in both appetizers and entrees. The Dungeness crab and bay shrimp tator tots are irresistible (whoever operates the deep fryer is an expert--fried foods are super-crispy, with no trace of oil). Presentations are lovely, service is appropriately but not overbearingly attentive, and prices are within reason, given the location, ambiance, and quality. If seafood is your goal, aim here.

“Great Seafood (Crab....)”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Dinner after a day long course. The concierge gave us a great recommendation. Nice decor. Attentive staff. complementary appetizer due to reservation from the Westin. Appetizers from salads to any seafood you's like. Nice presentation and great flavors. Sashimi grad tuna poke was great! The ciopino was exceptional. One of the best I've had. Spicy, flavorful, plentiful, ..... The whole Angry (spicy) whole Dungeness crab was work, but worth it. Great deserts and sides.

“Introduction to Seattle Dining which was Exquisite!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We arrived in Seattle late morning and having all my other restaurants figured out for the next four days, we needed a recommendation for lunch. The concierge at our hotel recommended BlueAcre which which just 2 blocks from the hotel. It was amazing!!!

Hubby had the lunch prix fix menu which he is still talking about. Fritters with ling cod and an orange cake. I had the roasted beet salad with the crab louis sandwich. This is amazing food!! Menu changes quite often.

Service was attentive, drink were always filled and the atmosphere is a modern clean vibe.

Will definitely return to this gem on our next visit!
