Stayed in Seattle for 6 nights as part of an Oregon/Cannon Beach/Astoria 11 day trip. We booked this hotel 2 days prior to our arrival in Seattle and, wow, are we glad we choose this property. We have never stayed at a Hyatt Place before so were not sure what to except. Given that most Tripadvisor reviews were favorable we decided to give it a shot.

We arrived in Seattle with our rental car which we planned to drop off after checking in to our room. Front desk staff was fantastic and super friendly – we were able to leave our car parked right out front while we dropped off our bags and changed our clothes. Our King room was humungous with a straight shot view of the space needle! Everything about this hotel was perfect for us – we used the gym every day, utilized wi-fi, rented an in-room movie, took advantage of the washer/dryer and drank lots of free coffee w/ our complementary breakfast.
We thought the location was perfect for exploring Seattle and walked just about everywhere over the course of 6 days. The only time we took advantage of the shuttle was to get us close to the stadium for the Red Sox/Mariners game – it was a warm day and we were behind schedule getting to the ballpark.

We spent a lot of time in Belltown checking out the numerous bars/restaurants – many of the establishments have really good happy hours from 4-6:00 and 10-12:00. Some of our favorites were: Belltown Pub (dog friendly on the inside), Cyclops, The Cellar, Mamas for Mexican, Von’s 100 Spirits, Spitfire, The Palace, Bambino for pizza, The Pink Door, Rob Roy. Dahlia Lounge, White Horse Tavern, Kells Pub. Elliotts on the waterfront has a great oyster special – they start off at $0.50/each at 3:00 and prices rise every hour. One of our favorite restaurants during the entire trip was Branzino (2429 Second Avenue) – so good that we visited twice for dinner. We ate at the bar both times and the service was fantastic – menu is Italian inspired with lots of intriguing options. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend to anyone. Although this property is not 5 stars in the sense of amenities and luxury, I still gave it 5 stars due to the friendly atmosphere, large rooms and service.

If that's your goal, this may be an issue. It IS near the Space Needle and then there is the Monorail to Westlake Center.
From there it's a short walk to Pikes Market and down to Puget Sound.

Big room, clean and in a VERY safe area.

We recently stayed at Hyatt Place next tol space Needle in downtown Seattle. The staff was very helpful in answering any questions & always went out of their way to find just what we needed.
We traveled downtown from SEA airport on the EL train for $2.75 each with all of our luggage to Westlake stop.
The hotel has a 24/7 shuttle that we called when we arrived in that area & they sent their transportation to pickup 8 of us with our luggage. They from there were always ready & willing to take to a y point of destination within a mile of their hotel.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the Space Needle I would recommend that you discuss this prior to to your arri...

We only stayed a night in this hotel as we were just passing through Seattle, but our experience was nice. The hotel has a new, modern look and feel, inside and out. The check in service staff was very friendly when we came in, and after a long day of driving, it was appreciated. The room was clean and well looked after, although the layout was slightly strange but overall not bothersome. Free breakfast and wifi are essential things these days in a hotel, and this Hyatt didn't disappoint; the wifi was strong and the breakfast diversified and satisfactory. The room included a free tube of toothpaste, which was nice. The nice view of the Space Needle from our room was a welcome bonus.

Unfortunately, we checked in too late and they had given our room away. However, they had already made arrangements for us to stay at another hotel that night. We were able to come back the next day and check in a little early. Staff was apologetic and went above and beyond to ensure our stay would be a good one. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Assortment of hot and cold foods which changed almost every day. Room was spacious and clean. Courtesy shuttle to attractions within 1 mile was great. Never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. Free Wi-Fi throughout hotel. Business Center with 2 computers and printers made it easy to get boarding passes for our flight home. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Room 421 only shares one wall with another unit so it's very quiet, esp. for light sleepers!! No...

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Hyatt Place Seattle for 4 nights in early July and we really had a good experience. We arrived a few hours before check in, but were pleased to find that our room was ready. Everyone was very friendly, provided suggestions on restaurants, site-seeing, etc. Pros: very nice location - short walk to the Space Needle and other museums and attractions, including the Monorail, Duck tour, etc.; hotel shuttle - convenient for a quick ride downtown or within a mile radius of the hotel; very nice breakfast each morning with a good variety of breakfast items; and again, really fantastic customer service all around. A couple of “cons” to mention: windows did not open which may or may not be an issue for everyone, we were there during a heat wave (temps in the high 90s). Due to the heat, the rooms felt very stuffy, and we found it a bit difficult to control the room temperature, as it was either way to hot or way too cold; the bathroom configuration was a little odd for us – while the toilet and shower were separate, the sink and vanity are in the bedroom which was fine, but if someone wants to get up early and get ready, you run the risk of making a ton of noise using the sink while everyone else is sleeping; and then finally, we felt a little over-whelmed by the chlorine smell from the indoor pool. We probably would not have noticed if the pool were outdoors, but once you walk into the pool area, you are immediately hit with a very strong chlorine smell.

If we ever make it back to Seattle, we’d consider staying here. We got a good deal on the room, and for a family of 4, it’s a bargain to have breakfast included each day. Again, best thing was really the location and then secondarily, the service.
