We travelled during 3 weeks. Seattle was the last stop before going back home. We stayed in this hotel because of the location and for the free continental breakfast. We had a room on the third floor but on a side of a busy road, it wasn't possible to move because the 2 queens bedrooms were located on that side. If you can avoid the noisy street with the gas station. Beds were comfortables, towels were cleaned. The breakfast was simple not delightful. It's close to the downtown but far from the waterfront.

This would be an excellent hotel choice for anything in the $130 or below range. For $265, you have to be kidding. The staff is trying, but the build and design is wierd. The light fixtures i the room are like outdoor lanterns. The desk in the room had a crooked leg. The bathroom shower is so dark, you can hardly see...like someone forgot to install a light fixture.
The oddest think is the credenza in the middle of the room, holding a TV that spins to face either the sofa or the bed. And honestly, this is no suite, the room is too small for what they are promising.
Also, be careful about the cancellation policy...is is NOT 24 hours but 48 hours notice!!!
I would only stay here if nothing else is available in the City.

We stayed here twice (coming and going) for a total of 5 nights on our recent vacation to Seattle and Victoria, BC. I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about this hotel.

RESERVATIONS: Made online. Very easy

CHECK-IN: Arrived around 10:30 p.m. via taxi and wasgreeted warmly by the front desk. Check in was fast and efficient. One of the workers took the TONS of baggage to our rooms. Not only did he unload it, but he also took 5 minutes to tell us everything about our room. (Including how to work the heat/AC.) He was extremely nice. (We ended up giving him a $20 tip because of how great he was!!)

ROOMS: Our king bed rooms were FABULOUS! They were very large with a large sofa, desk and chair. The area where the small refrigerator was had a granite counter top with coffee maker, tea, etc. The bathroom was very small and a little awkward when using the toilet facilities, but the shower was soooo roomy that I didn't care about the awkward set-up. The vanity was outside of the bathroom and large enough for 2 people to use at one time. The room was extremely clean. Nice t.v., VERY, VERY comfortable bed. We were on the 8th floor, so it was pretty quiet with an occasional siren or 2.

BREAKFAST: The breakfast area put my kitchen to shame! There was plenty of delicious food (fruit, yogurt, cereal, oj, etc.) with the option of buying a hot breakfast if you wanted. Plenty of room to sit down and enjoy breakfast. Very clean and items were continuously stocked.

FOOD BAR: One evening, we didn't feel like going to a restuarant to eat dinner, so we ate at the little "bar" they had by the front desk. We ordered hamburgers and breakfast items. We were shocked at the reasonable cost and thought for sure the food wouldn't be that tasty. We were stunned to discover that the food was made right there by the front desk staff and IT WAS QUITE GOOD.

STAFF: This is an area where the hotel SHINES! Everyone here went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We did not talk to one unhappy employee. The staff even took time to have personal conversations with us during our "bar" meal and the other guests who were there. No question went unanswered and always with a smile.

FREE SHUTTLE: This is another HUGE plus for the hotel. They will take you anywhere within 1 mile of the hotel, which is very liberal. We were taken to the Space Needle and Pikes Market. We NEVER had to wait for the shuttle, even when we called from the Space Needle to be picked up. They were always there within minutes. The shuttle drivers were friendly and always went out of their way to answer questions. Marina in particular was AMAZING! She gave us FABULOUS tips on where to go and how to get there when we were dropped off. She was friendly and kind, going out of her way to accomodate us as much as possible.

CHECK OUT: A breeze! Did it at the kiosks by the front desk.

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend staying here when you are in Seattle. What a wonderful hotel filled with wonderful staff. Thank you Hyatt Place, Seattle for making our trip extra special.

The hotel appears to be fairly new and we had no issues with the room itself. Clean, large enough and well appointed. We had a low floor room facing the back (shell station below) -- avoid this side of the building -- noisy at night. The building is quite secure with keycard access required to get above the lobby floor in both elevators and stairwells. Important as Seattle has, by far, the largest population of homeless/panhandlers I've come across in this year's travels. The location of the hotel is OK, it's on the edge of Belltown which has nice tree-lined streets and many shops; but 6th Ave NE and Denny appears to be roughly the border to a much grittier part of town. It is walking distance to nearly all important tourist attractions with particular proximity to the Space Needle. They also have a shuttle available to take you to sites within 1 mile (we did not use this). The staff was excellent; friendly and responsive although I felt bad for them as the desk staff also appears to man the adjacent breakfast bar and can be observed racing from latte preparation to checkout. They did it with a smile -- great for them; but not great staff planning. Basic breakfast items are free and they have a separate breakfast nook which seemed busy each morning. One of the mornings we took in breakfast they ran out of clean spoons, cups and bowls. Also during our stay one of the elevators malfunctioned and was out of service for a time.

In closing I'd categorize our stay as acceptable but enough of the details aren't quite right with the hotel for me to give it a strong recommendation. Certainly not up to typical Hyatt standards.

Room Tip: Avoid the backside facing the shell station

Very clean and friendly staff. We fit comfortably into the room with six adults, two per bed. The sinks are seperate from the shower, so getting ready was fairly easy. Great view of the Space Needle. Walgreens and several places to eat are within walking distance. The pool area and gym are clean.

I popped down to Seattle for a long weekend, to do some shopping and relaxing. I chose the Hyatt Place because of their very reasonable prices and because I wanted something close to Seattle Center.

I was not disappointed. The hotel is very clean, the employees were all very polite and accommodating. The room was large and well kept. There was a delicious complimentary breakfast, including some hot menu items.

There is a Walgreen's across the street, and it's easily within walking distance of downtown, Pike's Place and the monorail from Seattle Center to Westlake Mall.

Only two things were slightly off-putting. The elevator was VERY slow. Often, I found myself waiting 5 minutes for it just to arrive. However, I believe that one of them may have been out of order that weekend. The second thing is, the toilet/shower room is fairly small. The shower is nice, and the sink and vanity are outside of the room, but the space itself is rather small.

Still, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Very lovely in all ways but one. The staff were amazing, the room was lovely and super clean, the included breakfast was nice (including Starbucks coffee) but ... we stayed on the side of the hotel adjacent to the gas station, and at about five thirty in the morning there was a lot of noise and commotion which woke us up
. Ear plugs (had we had any) could have blocked out the racket, and the air conditioner may have helped to mask the noise had we had it on. By all means use this hotel, it is great value for money but ask for a room that is on the other side of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is as far away from the gas station as possible.
