Sleeping Bulldog Bed and Breakfast

We stayed here in the Santa Fe room in Aug. The B&B was one of the nicest that we have stayed in. They have too many ammenties to count. They include jacuzzi, heated floor, and heated towel racks in the bathroom; extensive DVD library so you can watch movies in your room (with popcorn); refrigerator and microwave, drinks, fresh-baked cookies all the time (and fruit, cereal, energy bars too!); computer and printer in the living room.... The breakfast is great too! They are full three course breakfasts. We enjoyed talking with the other guests at breakfast. Korby is a wealth of knowledge regarding suggestions of what to do in the city. There are great views from the house, and the B&B is easy to find (plenty of free parking right in front of the house). I'll stay at the Sleeping Bulldog again! You get to meet the dogs too. We would definitely stay here again.

The name and the Trip Advisor rating led us to the Sleeping Bulldog. Yes there is a bulldog, 2 of them actually, part of the charm of the place. The B and B is in a quiet residential neighborhood about a mile and a half from downtown Seattle, a short bus ride away (don't even think about taking your car downtown - horrible traffic and expensive parking. The bus costs $2.25 each way in non-rush hour and is well worth it). We chose to stay in the Santa Fe room, which was authentically decorated and well appointed with both a fantastic shower and a whirlpool tub. The bigger New Orleans room down the hall has a fireplace. Co-owner Korby was friendly and most helpful with suggestions about things to see. He also served up delicious and filling breakfasts. The poached pears were to die for! Outside in front, Korby and his partner Randall have built a chicken coop insuring a steady supply of fresh eggs. Atop the coop is a small garden patch where they raise fresh veggies and herbs. The only concern we would raise is that the Sleeping Bulldog sits atop a steep set of steps so if accessibility is an issue, you might want to call ahead and ask for help with your luggage. Otherwise, the Bulldog was a great experience.

Korby and Randall have created a haven for travellers. They are very professional, accomodations are outstanding and you get a smoking breakfast. We stayed in the New Oleans room and the balcony/view made the cost worthwhile. Awesome!

This was my best experience in a Bed and Breakfast. Korby and Randal are warm and welcoming, helpful and encouraging. I slept so peacefully and woke to the most amazing breakfast. MoJo was also a gem. I have already told many of my patients, coworkers and friends about my experience. I will always choose this over a hotel. When I returned from my run there was healthy food available. I felt completely safe to walk/run in the area. There is great ethnic food within .5 mile. Gentleman, thank you for sharing your home with a stranger.

We had 4 nights in Seattle, and when we booked our accommodations, the Sleeping Bulldog only had 1 night open for us - and we booked immediately on a personal recommendation. We were not disappointed. For roughly the same price as a Marriott or other upscale hotel, this bed and breakfast was the better choice. Our hosts were incredibly friendly, the rooms were modern and clean, and they thought of everything from snacks in the hallway to makeup remover for the ladies! Last but not least - the breakfast was AMAZING and the bulldog(s) were friendly and adorable. We can't wait to get back to Seattle and book more time here!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the New Orleans room, which had a private balcony and view of downtown Seattle!

The Sleeping Bulldog has thought it all through: jacuzzi, heated floor, and heated towel racks in the bathroom; extensive DVD library so you can watch movies in your room; fresh-baked cookies all the time (and fruit, cereal, energy bars too!); computer and printer in the living room.... Oh yeah, and they also do a wonderful breakfast--I've grown used to continental breakfasts, but these breakfasts had poached pears, scrambled eggs with salmon, quiche...wow! I especially liked the tempur-pedic beds, which were really comfortable. There are great views from the house, and the B&B is easy to find (plenty of free parking right in front of the house). I'll stay at the Sleeping Bulldog again!
