“Beautiful 15th Floor Room”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

WOW!!! What a great hotel and perfect location. When we arrived, the front desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We came in early and the room wasn't ready so the valet helped us with our bags and the front desk staff stored our bags in a secure area - and we then hit the town running (walking!!). They called us in a few hours and had our room ready - top floor with a beautiful view and a very comfortable king bed. The location is perfect for walking to the Pike Market and all of the restaurants on the Alaskan Way waterfront. The check-out was equally perfect. The valet had our car in less than 10 minutes, helped us load, and we were ready to hit the road. The staff at this hotel really have the customer as their top priority - they are the best.

Thank you for your comments! It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We are always willing to store luggage for our guests, either before check in if the room is not ready, or after check out if you still want to explore Seattle without the hassle of carrying bags. Stayed here for one night on the 4th July before heading to Vancouver. It was a few blocks away from the King Street Station where we picked up the Amtrak train to BC. It was also walking distance to Pike Place Market and there public train systems. It was a quiet location which is always a plus. The room was smaller that average but adequate. Looks newly renovated and very modern design. The bathroom was large which made up for room size. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would there again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay with us! We are about a 10 minute walk from the King Street Amtrak station and about a 10-15 minute walk to Pike Place Market. Although we are located in a historic building, the hotel has only been open since 2010. We will hopefully see you again soon!

Spent five nights in this updated and clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Was there on vacation and area does close down early but very convenient for business I'd imagine. Very quiet room with good space and nice decor. Walkable to both stadiums and Pike Place Market.

We took the Amtrak up and this was decent walking distance away. We were nervous because of the scaffolding outside. Actually we walked a block in the wrong direction because we didn’t see the sign.

The front desk was friendly, but no offer to help with our luggage. We booked with points, so we got a room on the 4th floor and were nervous about noise. But honestly it wasn’t bad. We decided to keep the fan running all the time, as they had left it that way when we got to our room, and the white noise helped.

This is located close to various bus routes and the underground tram that will take you to Westlake Center or to Safeco/Century Link. Downtown Seattle is walkable but it’s hilly and I didn’t want to kill my legs/feet.

There are nice restaurants close by and a 7-11, which was helpful. The room had a fridge which we stocked with drinks for the unseasonably HOT Seattle temps. We enjoyed the pool, although it was cool, it was still refreshing since it was so hot outside. The Bistro had good cheesecake. The Wi-Fi worked great!

The only issue was that there was no fan in the bathroom, so it got quite hot and steamy in there.

Thank you for your comments. Although we do have scaffolding on the front of the building there is no construction going on at this time. I do apologize that the hotel was hard to find. We are a walkable distance to the main Downtown area, but like you mentioned, Seattle is a hilly city. Our staff can always call a cab for our guests or recommend other forms of public transportation that is very accessible. I’m glad to hear that you were able to enjoy the other amenities of our hotel, like the pool and Bistro. I hope you stay with us again on your next Seattle visit.

Great property - love the rooms - spacious, great Paul Mitchell toiletries as usual. Love this older building which has been gutted and completely re-done - great swimming pool and gym with weights, etc. All new equipment. Highly recommended and great customer service - so happy to come back. There are a few beggars etc nearby - who have no problem approaching you and asking for money, so if this disturbs you - you may choose to stay a little closer to Pike Place, etc. The parking is only valet and very dear sadly as it's run by a seperate company. If these last two things were different it would get a consistent 5 on the price and value for money stakes. Thanks again Courtyard Marriott Pioneer Square A+. Comp my parking next time and I might just give you 5 ;-)

This property works great for a downtown vacation. You can get to it easily using the light rail connection from the airport, and it is centrally located for Pike Place Market, ferry access, stadiums, etc...

Our room was large and comfortable. The only problem we encountered was that the daily cleaning service did not replenish bathroom supplies. For example, we ran out of shampoo after a couple days, and had to call the front desk to get resupplied. Staff were were quick to bring the re-supply once prompted.

The hotel restaurant is more like a Starbucks coffee shop with the ability to order substantial breakfast meals. I decided to try the breakfast burrito, and was pleasantly surprised - it was substantial and excellent.

All staff were friendly and helpful.

If your purpose is to tour Seattle, and you are not adverse to walking and mass transit, there is no reason to rent a car here. The light rail link to the airport is convenient, and way cheaper than a taxi ride. Most of downtown Seattle is within a 30 min walk, and the mass transit system is excellent. Hotel staff can be extremely helpful with selecting bus routes. And taxis are available as a more expensive option.

Plenty of great places to eat or enjoy a beverage are nearby. I highly recommend Wild Ginger for lunch or dinner, and the Bookstore (Alexis Hotel, on 1st Ave) for beverages and light dinner fare.

In summary, this is an excellent selection for a tourist looking for value in Seattle.

Thank you for your comments about your stay. We are located in a great location with easy access to many of Seattle’s popular attractions. As you mentioned, are staff are always willing to help with directions and information on public transportation. I’m glad you enjoyed the Bistro. It has a wide selection for breakfast. Anything from just a Starbucks coffee or Oatmeal to a full meal, like the Breakfast Burrito or French Toast. We hope to see you again!

I have recently stayed at the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square. Upon arrival the doorman was johnny on the spot greeting me and ready to take my baggage from me. The check in was quick and simple. There was some renovations going on outside the hotel, but not a big deal. I stayed in a king bedded room with a sofa. The room also had a coffee maker, a mini fridge and a microwave. The bathroom amenities(Paul Mitchell) were wonderful. The room was clean and well appointed. The entire staff was friendly and quite helpful. The location of this hotel 7 blocks from Pikes Market(easy walking) and there is plenty of different kind of shopping around. One block from the hotel there are plenty of resturants to choose from. A 7-11 is only a block away for quick snacks and drinks. The bristo located right outside the lobby was clean, comfortable and the food was delish. I would suggest going during happy hour. The prices are much better then. This hotel use to be a bank. The lobby during the mornings can be quite busy, so if you want the complimentary coffee do early to avoid the crowds. This hotel had 3 working compurters which were complimentary. This hotel also offers various snacks, drinks, meals and wine from their marketplace store. These items can be charged to your room. Overall, this hotel is a great place to stay. The pool is small but it was clean and there were plenty of towels for drying off. The exercise room had up to date equiptment was in great condition. This hotel did provide complimentary umbrellas in the event of rain(which it rained everyday I was there). I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the Seattle area. I would definately stay here again without any hesitations.
Excellent hotel, excellent staff, excellent price and excellent location.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the alley will be your more quite rooms. The best time for the pool would be mid-morni...
