“Would stay here again”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

I highly recommend the Courtyard at Pioneer Square. I was a little worried after reading some of the previous comments, but ended up being very satisfied with our decision to stay at this location. It's conveniently located to downtown (walking distance) as well as to mass transit (which in Seattle is the way to go). There are homeless in the area but I never felt unsafe - and we have two young children. There was a little mix up the first night of our stay, but in true Marriott fashion, the problem was taken care of beyond expectation. This is why we always stay at a Marriott. We had ample time to find fault with the location as we were there for 6 nights - but found nothing to complain about. The only advice I can think of is to request a high floor or bring a sound machine. Like most city hotels, you will hear noise from cars on the street.

Room Tip: Request a high floor

This is a conveniently located, well appointed, hotel close to all the downtown attractions. Convenient to get to the stadiums as well as the space needle using the mono-rail and free downtown buses. The hotel had an easy check-in and check-out process. They have a convenient cafe on site, but there was no room menu of items or prices which would have been helpful, as there are few open breakfast places downtown on weekends. It is a $16 cab ride to pier 91 from the hotel. Free wi-fi was an added bonus. Use AARP card for some $$ off.

No breakfast included small rooms high prices but everything else is up to good marriott standards. A few blocks from everything downtown easy to get to from the train station. Valet parking only for 28 dollars a night. Forget the rental car take the train here and stay downtown for a good price for seattle

Living in the Seattle suburbs we don't get the chance to stay in downtown very often. Last weekend we thought we would do a weekend getaway in our own city. We booked a room at the Courtyard in Pioneer Square for Fri./Sat. nights along with some other neighbors. The property is in a historic building that was completely renovated as a hotel last year. The location was great as we could walk out the front door and walk up to the Pike Place market in about 10 minutes or a few blocks down to the Stadium where we saw the U2 concert Sat. night. The hotel management was in the lobby greeting guests when we checked in and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are done very nice and were very clean. We'll stay there again for sure!

Room Tip: Great water views, west side rooms.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square with my mom while I hunted for an apartment. The staff was extremely friendly. The lobby was very nice. Unfortunately, our room was on the third floor and was extremely noisy b/c we could hear the street below. The hotel is going for an environmentally friendly business model and, thus, the rooms can be quite dark. My mother has vision problems and it was particularly hard for her to see what she was doing in the bathroom. The hotel is not situated particularly close to any of Seattle's hot spots or tourist destinations. In all, this place was not horrible, but you could do better for the price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor to avoid noise.

Stayed for a weekend, flew in Friday morning, flew out Sunday evening. Decided to stay at this location because we got a good rate on the stay.

Pros:
- free wi-fi
- clean hotel
- noise level was a minimum

Cons:
- steep valet service $22/daily
- nothing close enough for walking distance
- not geared for romantic getaways.

We had a big event in Seattle and thought we would spend the weekend, enjoying Seattle. Upon our arrival we had about an hour before we had to be at our event, just enough time to check in, change and freshin up a bit. After driving around for about 20 min looking for a place to park we decided to use their vallet service. However they were so busy that we were told that if we only wanted to have vallet park for a short time to only allow us to check in and freshin up we would have to find our own place to park, they would not park for us. Even though we were being charged for it we couldn't use it. We were extremly upset and disapointed. Unable to change and get ready for our event due to there being absolutly no parking anywhere. We only stayed the one night and traveled back home the next day. After telling the front desk about what happened we felt perhaps we should have been compted something for our trouble. We weren't and we will never stay at another Marriott again.
