“MAXWELL HOTEL SEATTLE”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

Loved the hotel, the staff and the location. The rooms were excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room amenities were just right. They have all you would need for a few nights. The hotel is located perfectly so you can visit the Seattle Center and all the activities there, plus you can catch the monorail down to Pike's Mkt. We had a lovely time. My only complaint is that we came early 10 am and checked to make sure that our reservation was right before we took off and did our days activities. Check in was at 3pm. We came back at 5pm expecting to be able to go straight to our room. It was not ready yet. I understand that they had a full house, but then I think you need to have more people available to make sure the rooms are done in time for the next group coming in. I really wanted to freshen up before dinner and that wasn't possible. I felt bad for the staff on the front desk, as you could see they had had a difficult day, but they were still nice to us and visa versa. They gave us a good recommendation for dinner Petit Toulouse (a little pricey for a family, but happy hour worked perfectly). We went to dinner and when we came back our room was ready. I really appreciated their locked private garage and would be willing to try them again. Hopefully soon :)

I stayed at The Maxwell during a business trip and I loved everything about it!

The lobby and common areas are spotless, vibrant, and welcoming while the bedrooms are ample, comfortable, and relaxing, vast perks - including free parking and wi-fi, on site coffee shop, pineapple cupcakes in the afternoon, dvd player, mp3 docks, coffee/tea/pop corn in bedroom - and top notch staff.

Moreover, the location is prime: a couple of blocks from the Space Needle, the Experience Music Project, great restaurants such as Toulouse Petit Kitchen and Ten Mercer, as well as easy access to freeways and rail to get anywhere in Seattle and nearby.

The Maxwell also had a great deal so the third night stay was free with 2 paid nights...honestly, this is a place to stay solo, with family, in a romantic getaway or for business with all the amenities and comfort one could wish for in Seattle.

We stayed in the Maxwell Hotel in Seattle in May, 2012, which is a small, lovely boutique hotel. When we arrived, we learned that we had been upgraded to a larger room which was a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. The room was modern, with dark wood floors and a sitting area. The price was reasonable by Seattle standards. The hotel did not offer a complimentary breakfast and had a pool but no hot tub. The Maxwell has a great location. It is right across the street from the Space Needle. At the foot of the Space Needle, you can catch the monorail to downtown.

The negatives of the hotel are that it looks out over a large parking garage across the street, and the area where it is located is not attractive, although not ugly either. Because of the location and the attractiveness of the hotel itself, I would recommend it for a stay in Seattle.

This is my second stay at the Maxwell and I am glad I stayed again. The rooms are very large and the bed super comfortable. Parking is free which can be a plus when staying in a big city. One of my favorite reasons to stay in this hotel is one can take the monorail to visit the downtown.

As business traveller, the hotel is just OK. Room service is limited and the restaurant is not open in the morning. However, nearby the hotel are a number of great breakfast locations.

Nothing to add to the great reveiws! - This Hotel is great!
The only thing to be aware of is that the doors do not fit snug and with the wood floors in the rooms - all of the noise from the hallways comes in the rooms. It seemed like many of the hotel guests stayed out late and woke us up everynight around 1am. Also know that there is a 3 story parking garage on the space needle side of the hotel, so you probably need to get the top floor to see over it.
Also note that we went there for a pre-cruise with the understanding that they would provide a free shuttle to the pier. They no longer provide this service.
The breakfast bar was inconsistant - it didn't open up one morning until 10am!

I really want to compliment the housekeeping staff for their hard work, and they still smile and say hello. The hotel was quiet. Large comfortable rooms. I liked I could open the window for some real air. Great lighting in the bathroom. Great location for the Seattle Center, lower Queen Anne neighborhood with all its restaurants. Access to monorail and buses.
