Having traveled to Seattle via Amtrak, this HI hostel is well situated, just a short 5-minute walk from the station and very close to the football & baseball stadiums. However, while this location is convenient, it's also in a rather unsavory part of town; somewhere that you wouldn't really want to walk at night by yourself.

The hostel is quite big -- a former hotel with several floors and lots of rooms. Our family stayed in a private room with four bunks; I particularly liked the little fans, reading lights, and power sockets at each bunk for charging your phone etc. The building is older but has been refurbished pretty well, and it's pretty clean throughout. The staff were helpful and the hostel is right at the edge of the free transit zone downtown.

The location is convenient and the price is good, but I suspect there are better places to stay if you want to stay for several nights and tour the city sights

Pretty good digs for the price but this area gets a little iffy after a certain time. If you're a night owl, you'll more than likely have an occasion to introduce yourself to the zombies / crackheads that come out when traffic dies down. Very easy pay-parking directly across the street. I'd stay there again

I stayed at HI-Seattle with my boyfriend on a Saturday night before going to a Seahawks game. It was perfect because I drove down from Vancouver and was able to park for free on the street after 8pm and the whole day on Sunday is free too. It wasn't too far a walk to CenturyLink Field AND we found a cute place to buy food and super cheap beer on the way there! Anyway, if you're a Hostelling International member, private rooms only go for about $80/night. I think that's a steal especially when you don't have to pay for parking or breakfast!

This hostel is close to the train station (which has trains going to the airport all the time). Also walking distance to Seattle Downtown. Buses go all the time (and are free in downtown Seattle!). The football and baseball stadium are also in walking distance. Chinese restaurants are right next door (it is in the international district).

Friendly staff, clean rooms. They serve breakfast, which is okay, concidering you don't have to pay extra.

I can recommend this place for a stay in Seattle, and next time I go there I will definitively stay there again!

Clean hostel, close to train station, with good breakfasts and more than adequate kitchen and laundry facilities, staff friendly and informative.
