Watch out if you are walking as the bikes go by pretty fast. Great route!

“Urban adventures”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2012

Although often crowded, especially on weekends, the Burke Gillman Trail remains one of the nation's crown jewels of the rail trail conversions. Stretching from Puget Sound waters through the University of Washington campus to the shores of Lake Washington, the trail offers a wide variety of opportunities for dining, people watching and level grade aerobic glee. When combined with the connecting Samammish River Trail, the network stretches far enough to satisfy all levels of cyclists. Truely a gem of the metro Seattle area.

“This is why we live here!”

What can I say? The trail is amazing! Nothing better than a bike ride in Seattle on a nice day on the Burke-Gilman or Sammamish River trail! Try to go on a weekday if possible ;)

“Locals Favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2012

Having lived close to the Burke for several years, I can tell you that this is not only a wonderful exercise path, it's a communting route and wonderful way to see the city as a tourist. The bike trail is extensive (over 60 miles) and is used extensively by families, recreationalists, cycling teams, and individuals in training for the area's various competitive and charity rides. I can't think of a more fun way to get to know the region than to rent a bike and ride the Burke. It's is an absolute gem.

“Great place to bike and walk”

Right now sections of the trail are closed but once it re-opens it's a wonderful place to walk or bike for a few miles or for long distances.
