This is one of the first places I used to walk at after work. Just go with a
group if it's dusk. Can be a problematic place after dark,

Green Lake is great for walking & running all year round. In the Summer, you can enjoy the lake on a paddle boat.

The inner loop is 2.8 miles, paved, and multi use for foot traffic and bicycles/roller blades.

Spend a lot of time in this park all year round. And its a great place for Fun Runs like the Valentines Day Dash.

Green Lake is the place to go to chill out and exercise year round. You can slowly walk and savor the greenspace or race by on skates, bike, feet. Folks are fishing (although I wouldn't eat those fish!), kids are playing, lots of people watching going on. You can swim there in summer, but depending on the wildfowl activity and water quality, you may want to avoid the water. There is a popular kiddie wading pool on the north side of the park. One note: parking is always challenging and locals know it's a popular car break-in area. Just don't leave anything enticing in view, including your GPS stand. The community rec center there also has an indoor pool and b-ball court. When we go, we like to also hit the Greenlake library and there are many good choices for food and brews surrounding the lake. We do miss the Albertsons which used to be there before it became a victim of development, though.

What's not to like - people watching, boat watching, splash pools, plenty of grassy areas for picnics. Love Green Lake! And then walk across the street for ice cream.
