I just took a walk around Green Lake and was treated to a great variety of walkers, sports enthusiasts, and wildlife. We started at the south end of the lake and continued in a clockwise fashion. Right away we noticed a lovely bearded heron standing on a log in the lake, and beside him were 6 turtles sunning themselves. Flowering lilypads surrounded the heron and friends. And then we spotted a racoon half-way up a cedar tree. Down on the ground were moms and dads pushing strollers, folks biking, skating, and roller blading. There's a walking lane and a biking lane, which most people pay attention to. Out on the lake was a man in a canoe taking photos, and in another boat, a father and son were fishing. Along the walking/bike path are lots of benches, little flower beds, and sloping grass to enjoy. There's a little golf course at the south end, and across the street are 10+ tennis courts. This is really is a great place to people watch, view wildlife, and get some exercise!
