“Fremont, One of My Favorites”

Just to set the background here, we really enjoy finding places and visiting them. When we drive by somewhere, we make note of the name and on those days when we are sitting around wondering what to do, we go to that list. I will be honest in saying that most of the places we need to visit are in Fremont.

The city has an excellent culture, with wonderful restaurants, breweries and pubs, and specialty stores. We typically drive home from downtown Seattle, right through Fremont at least once a week to find or try out a new place. In addition, we have chatted up folks walking by for more insight on what we are missing. Currently, we live just north in Shoreline, but do not mind driving out. Try Pies on Fremont Av, or the Red Door. Both are great places to begin, if you haven’t been. However, if you are adventurous and enjoy experiencing new things, you have to give Fremont a try. You won't be disappointed.

Fancy that! The troll gets the image for Freemont! Well, what can I say? Freemont is a fabulous neighborhood. Shops that are hip and fun & funky places to eat.

“funky and fun”

funky shops and funky people. Very interesting on occasion. Not large enough to visit frequently, you would run out of places to see. The annual nude bicycle ride is an event to behold (so I hear)

“Nice little excursion”
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

We went to go to Theos and noticed the dinosaur shrubbery on the Canal. My daughters love anything Dino so we went to take a look. Decided to walk and find the troll and several other attractions. The girls enjoyed getting their pic taken with each one. There was one homeless person, byt March is pretty quiet, the only others we saw were runners, cyclists, tourists and other regular folk. It was a good free way to spend the morning. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Only 5 min drive to paseos for lunch. Short drive from lake union. All and all it was worth doing

“Fremont is to be appreciated....”

The expected coffee bars and eateries...but check out the Troll and the Statue of Lenin and there's even a rocket. A fabulous Saturday or Sunday walk-about destination. Very laid back and of you must go to the street market on Sundays. Off to one side is an almost underground market with some great finds.

The market itself has all of the usual suspects...herbs, leather goods, jewelry and sprinkled some pretty cool old stuff.
