“Another Jewel for Seattle's Attractions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

This fairly new (newly relocated and updated) museum is now in the general Space Needle, Chihuly, EMP area and should be added to your must-see list. We went there while visiting relatives in Bellevue, WA and I recommend it for natives and tourists alike. Seattle's history is presented using many different media techniques and most of it is done so that a range of age groups will learn and enjoy. The modern era highlights not just Seattle industry but also its social history. There are several floors to explore and I agree with previous reviewers to allow at least two hours to enjoy. Young children (kindergarten through about 3rd grade) won't get much out of this. The museum has provided a play area for them on the first floor so you need to plan for someone in your group to stay there and play with that child. There are discounts for seniors and children under 14, which we appreciated.

“Very interesting and rich in variety”

We had 4 hours to check out the museum and it was nearly too short. Better plan with more time!
A nice mix from town history, inventions and art.

Really enjoyed the whole place. Great to visit with kids but enjoyed it fine with a couple of adult pals. Lovely location near the wooden boat centre. Great little cafe nice lunch, but got fantastic coffee from the red food truck (celesto expresso) outside across the parking lot.

“Fascinating Museum in World Class Setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

Allow a LOT of time; our first visit was limited to two hours and we barely saw half of it. Not only first-class historical displays, but a number of short films about significant events in Seattle history. There is something for everyone, whether your interest is transportation, industry, art, social activities, crafts, architecture, politics, infrastructure and more.
