This is a wonderful new facility for the museum, which covers history of many parts of the State, and the development of commerce.

“Seattle History Made Exciting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Great view of Seattle history from many different perspectives. Everything from music, theatre maritime, goldrush. I would also recommend going during the weekend so you arent so crowded. Cant wait to go back since I didnt get to view the entire exhibit. Getting through the ADA gate can be a bit tricky so you might want to call in advance if you need to use this feature.

“Buy a membership, you'll need it!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Spent several hours here last Sunday, but need to go back. There was so much to see, and was a bit crowded. You could easily spend the better part of a day in here. Really went into the history of Seattle, from the beginning right up to the modern history. It was fun seeing some of the exhibits that I remember as a youngster and explaining them to my daughter. The museum is in a fantastic location and is right next to the wooden boat museum, which, by the way, offers free boat rides on Sundays. I bought the "Family Plus" membership and am really glad I did...it offers entrance to many local and national museums, including the EMP which will be our next adventure!

“Great place to find out about Seattle's history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Had never been before and had a great time strolling thru all the exhibits. Lots of hands on things for the little kids (or big kids) as you go thru the museum. Very well put together rooms that flow from one area to another. I was really surprised to see that kids under 14 get in free. Not sure if it was because we were there for MLK Day but it was a deal.

“Plan Several Visits”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

This was a really good stop for us. I was hoping for more maritime displays but there was SO much more to see - and listen - and read. It was a pretty busy day - Sunday prior to MLK - and I would recommend going on a weekday so you don't feel crowded and jostled and hurried. Admission seemed reasonable - $14? - and it's a short walk across the water to the World Pub. My only disappointment was finding that the ships moored just outside weren't taking visitors.
